Could you share more about your compliance engine? Where are you sourcing the data from?

I'm perplexed why they would use such a silly example in their demo video (rotating an image of a dog upside down and cropping). Surely they can find more compelling examples of where these skills could be used?

They don’t have banking licenses, at least not in the US

Why are flight bookings the go to example always? For most people, booking a flight happens infrequently, is a non-trivial expense (to your point), and is not that burdensome to do yourself.

I'm a big fan of ActiveJob in Rails. I was considering building a version inspired by it in Node but now it looks like I don't have to. Thank you for building this.
Screenshots on the website would be very helpful. This sounds interesting, but would like to see what the actual UI is before setting anything up. It would also be good to link to the Github repo for the CLI part - I'm skeptical of giving an unknown tool access to my database without understanding what it's actually doing.

Why would you need to remember it once you’ve set it up?

We're using Github Copilot (the chat UI on github.com) to allow non-technical colleagues to ask questions of the code, "How does X business process work". It's deflected a lot of basic questions from engineers. Your product seems in this direction. Nice job
Re:A new generation of Tailscale access controls on Sunday June 01, 2025 @03:21PM (#44153139)
Ah yes. This seems to be something new and entirely optional. They’re saying that it might make sense to some to keep both network and application level authorization defined in one place. Personally, I’m with you in just using a normal SSO solution.
Re:A new generation of Tailscale access controls on Sunday June 01, 2025 @02:24PM (#44152796)
It’s at the network level. It will block clients from connecting to the destinations on the network. You don’t need to modify any applications at the destination.
This looks great - congrats. Would I be able to build an internal "Chat with your code" type product? I'm looking at the "code reranker" api docs and they require a list of files including the code itself. This would probably be infeasible to send all our code just to get relevancy. Are there any local ways of reducing the list of files and code we send?

We're using Github Copilot chat (the interface hosted at https://github.com/copilot) for this purpose today but I'm curious how one would build such a thing ourselves.

There is no settlement in Swift itself as it’s not network. Swift is messaging only. Bank settlements would happen later through networks like SEPA or Fedwire.

Ripple provides both messaging and settlement with XRP

Lieferando should spend more time building a good app instead of registering domains. In my experience, they are by far the worst delivery service in Berlin being in the market long before Uber Eats, Wolt, etc. The only thing they have going for them is some mindshare as the first in the market. I can't understand how they're still around.
I'm not so sure it can be a letterbox. When registering companies with the Handelsregister in Germany, I think there is a legal requirement to have a physical address. At least from my experience.
Unfortunately, in Germany, there is a legal requirement for a business to have a physical address when registering it with the commercial register.
Re:Getting AI to write good SQL on Friday May 16, 2025 @06:02PM (#44010169)
Out of all the AI tools and models I’ve tried, the most disappointing is the Gemini built into BigQuery. Despite having well named columns with good descriptions it consistently gets nowhere close to solving the problem.

Changing the Python interpreter to an existing poetry venv also seems to have some trouble.
Re:Launch HN: Nao Labs (YC X25) – Cursor for Data on Monday May 12, 2025 @07:42AM (#43961921)
Hi, this is a great idea. I'm trying to get it working but I'm having some trouble in the last step of "Configure dbt project". I'm looking for a support link on your website but can't find any. The Help->Report Issue menu seems to be for vscodium.

Here is the issue I have:

> Could not initialize dbt project: name 'default_profiles_dir' is not defined

There is a "Fix in chat" button which suggests creating a .nao.env file (it doesn't create the file when trying to apply it). However, after applying the suggested changes manually:

> DBT_PROFILES_DIR=~/.dbt

I still have an issue. I'm not sure why I would need to tell it where the default dbt profiles are...

Happy to chat by email if you can share a support email address.

Email to a German government institution or the management company for my apartment building. The response to your email is always a letter in the post several weeks later with the title "RE: The email you sent on 25.03.2023".
Is it common for people to use WhatsApp at work? I don't think I've seen that before.
When I worked in consulting, we would call this “top down communication” - starting with the key message first. As opposed to storytelling.

Seen Finance | Multiple Roles | Full time | Berlin and Chicago | Hybrid on-site | https://seen.com At Seen, we believe that everyone deserves a fair opportunity to (re)build their credit. We understand how tough it can be to qualify for a credit card when your credit score isn't where you want it to be.

Seen is a new fintech company, started in 2023 following the acquisition of Sable (YC S19) by Snap Finance. We've recently launched a credit card in the US for people with less than ideal credit. We plan to offer other exciting credit products in the future.

It's a great time to join as the team is small (10 engineers) and we're growing fast. We're a startup but we're also lucky to have the financial support and customer base from our parent company.

We're hiring in Berlin for:

* VP of Analytics

* Senior Software Engineer

* Staff Software Engineer

We're hiring in Chicago for:

* Senior Data Engineer

* Staff Data Engineer.

Our software is written in Typescript. We use React and React Native. Our data stack uses dbt, Python and BigQuery.

If you're interested, just email us your resume or LinkedIn page: [email protected] (for both Chicago and Berlin offices)

Perhaps his company doesn’t need to search the whole web when they already have an index of it…
