yeah shipping widgets and shit, not real features
so if there's no user reports and fable isn't shipping in the middle of the night, then it's an outage?
+1 to Fastmail, I've used them for almost 8 years now, never ever have I had an issue with them.
ugh when will these execs stop focusing on tokenmaxxing?
that comment about "loser thinking" sounds like he's not the best at communication
I'd even say AI can act as a good tutor as well, I often use it to learn about a concept and then have it prompt me 1-2 days later in quiz form (you have to specific that multiple choice questions shouldn't come back as correct answer first ) which helps you solidify concepts.
that's the plan for now, I just haven't had the M1 Pro slow down/hang/lag enough to give it up. It's a mid-range M1 Pro with 32GB of ram, works for me for dev work, I don't run any local LLM or resource intensive things on it. Battery only has 250 cycles on it so it's not like it dies off-charger.
I have an M1 Pro as well but my next computer will be a split setup mainly because I realized that I'm most often working / focusing on hard things while at the desk and just browsing / checking in on things when I'm away from the desk so I'm thinking something like:
- a low end Macbook Pro or Air
- Mac Studio, mid-to-high specs
I always wondered if these text messages are extremely cheap or free for these spammers to send? In my experience, sending texts costs around 0.5 to 1 cent so are they hoping after spending a few bucks in spend, they'd get a sucker?
I used to have an auto-expanding snippet that would insert the entire wikipedia entry for the Tiananmen Square massacre and then I'd never hear back from them. This was mostly when the Chinese bots were doing the pig butchering scam.
Sonnet is way faster than Opus when doing everyday tasks, I think on the subscription plans it's a better option when you need something done faster than Opus' long thinking sessions.
except, I didn't need WeWork to get work done, I use claude like crack to get work done.
Great! next week we'll get Astra 6.1 and Fable 5.2
Shame on Cash App and Block for their horrible customer support.
I think this is a direct competitor to Dot and Muse, I've been using Muse more recently and it's surprising how little context/memory managment you ahve to do when it's just one long thread.
I would love to use it but that lowercase M really bothers me so maybe it would be perfect for me to fork and build my own version of it
in my case, I'm hoping that the time-to-first-token isn't so bad that I can have my admin users parse some information in the web ui pretty quickly (a very specific use case, i know)
I'm going to start using this instead of Haiku/GPT-Luna for tasks that require speed.
I'm wondering if it'll still be useful once the discount is lifted?
If you're sailing the high seas, *arr stack saves you a ton of time managing anything related to that. And now with an LLM quickly being able to set up a docker-compose for you, it's a no-brainer setup only if you're willing to spend a weekend getting it up and running on an always on computer behind a VPN, and for some people that's not worth the time/effort/money so I understand
I don't have any real use cases for jxl or avif or any other modern format b/c I rarely host images but all these articles are always so interesting to me. And at the end of it, I'm left wondering, is there ever going to be a single winner here?
I am surprised author said *arr stack is a mess, it's probably one of the few things I haven't touched much since setting it up and it saves me a ton of time managing new media.
no, this is a good stance to have as a publication that people read for human opinions, if I wanted bot written articles I'll just go to business insider
I love all kinds of monospace fonts, there's just so much you can do with a fixed width font!
My personal daily drivers are SF Mono and Berkeley Mono.
Pro user here, don't see it in the Gemini app
I'm out of the loop on this, can someone explain who this is and why this is bad?
this never made sense to me, how can Google buy a growing/successful social network and essentially let it die?
Love this and I already have a use for this
beautiful home and photos! makes me realize some people are just way cleaner than me :D
IMHO, it's good to add more specific controls for this. After reading this, I went and checked my list of app with full disk access:
- Ghostty (fine, it's my terminal)
- Alfred (fine, I use it for searching everywhere)
Then I have a few turned off:
- Spotify (why does it need full disk access) ??
- Gemini (nope, don't need it to know everything about my
computer)
