I’d be very cautious about following any mono diet for a prolonged period of time.
For every anecdote you find with a positive story you can find an opposing narrative.
I work as a physician and had a patient come in through emergency very sick after eating nothing but potatoes for 2 years.

Injections of local anaesthetics into end arteries like fingers are only dangerous if the formulation contains a vasoconstrictor (adrenalin/epinephrine) in addition to the anaesthetic agent.
