The timeline says the CVE was reported over 2 weeks ago, so why are the alarms sounding now?

Anthropic isnt getting enough scrutiny for their unprofessionalism:
1. Anthropic employee working on monumental problem but didnt receive/ask for the full backing of the company's resources
2. May or may not be mixing unreleased Claude output with Codex without zero data retention agreement
3. Victory lap on Twitter and giggling around the city before they finished the job, sparking rumors for competitors

They should have used a zero data retention agreement, user error

I can ship a new feature almost every day on the $20 Codex plan. The limiting factor has always been the drive to build something. General Artificial Intelligence is here and most will continue going about their normal routine

In some circles any AI usage puts you in the same bucket as the worst of the worst

The article clearly indicates the size of the changes: "The commit message is 5 characters and is simply the word “runs.” The commit changes 1534 lines of code making the ratio 5/1534 = ~0.003"

That just shows how wrong he's been because there was nothing unsafe about AI in 2016. And the people theorizing about this stuff in the 20th century? I want to see what crazy code they were writing

Re:Engineers who dismiss AI
on Friday December 19, 2025 @08:20AM (#46325514)
Maybe I've always been a terrible engineer but I'm humble enough to admit the way I code has always been exactly like the LLM. If it's something brand new I'm googling it and pattern matching how to write it. If it's based on existing functionality I'm doing ctrl + f and pattern matching based on that and how to insert the minimal code changes to accomplish the task

Very lenient and it doesn't set a deterrent at all for people like SBF. Basically you can go off the charts on the sentencing guidelines and commit 3 counts of perjury in court and still have the same Expected Value as if you stopped the crime at a smaller scale
