Hi, I’m Mingyang, a Toronto-based software engineer looking for backend or applied AI opportunities in Canada.

I spent over three years at ICBC working on Java/Spring services and financial data workflows, completed my M.Eng. at McMaster in 2025, and currently work on finance-focused LLM evaluation as an AI Data Trainer at Cohere.

My strongest skills are Python, Java, SQL, and building reliable systems. I also maintain FinMirror, an open-source financial-agent evaluation project.

I’m authorized to work in Canada and available immediately for full-time or contract roles. If your team is hiring, I’d appreciate an introduction or a referral after you’ve reviewed my background.
