I drive a Mitsubishi PHEV. And it enforces this by not letting you drive on battery until you fill at least 20L of new fuel. So you're forced to use a portion of the tank at least every 90 days.
Not to excuse things, but was this an industrial monoculture tree farm that they replaced with a data centre? This isn't "wild" forest, is it?
Hasn't this been the plan for years now?
Alberta's electricity system is Canada's example of this. "de-regulation" meant the separation of generation, distribution and retail. Decades after this was supposed to lower the price of electricity, it's done the opposite. Big corporations are now guaranteed a profit at each layer of the system. There is no competition, because why would they compete if they're guaranteed a profit?
So the result is Albertans pay more than most other Canadians for electricity. Even if the actual rate is low (which it isn't), the cost of electricity is usually only 10% of my bill. The rest is "transmission" "distribution" etc. It's insanely expensive compared to next door in British Columbia.
I think both the UK and France have had nuclear weapons programs since the 50s and 60s. Are you thinking about the "Northwood declaration" ? Where they both said they would coordinate their nuclear responses?
In the comment you're replying to, "their diesel will only last 6 months" is a reference to Red Storm Rising. I don't think the commentator literally meant diesel. But whatever's happening inside Russia is forcing their hand. Either they act now, or their window shuts.
I have no idea what that is, but I'm interested. What is LVMH?
They are literally in the start menu.
They're a premium brand, not a luxury brand. That's an important distinction.
Dell, HP, etc. all have premium products as well as their economy ones. Apple just doesn't do cheap and economy products.
When that gold plated Apple Watch came out, you could feel the discomfort. That's luxury brand territory.
Even the most expensive Apple Watch isn't in that "luxury" category anymore.
How does Mullvad do it? They also have Canadian servers.
The argument is about State's Rights essentially. Can a state file a claim against a corporation that only has a small footprint in the state?
Where are those State's Rights people on this?
I live in Canada, where even our right-wing parties are in favour of public education and free health care. I guess that makes us all socialists.
Canada's first amendment is about a completely different topic :-)
The Canadian keyboards are so Canada: supposed to appeal to either English or French users, but just pisses them off. English speakers go for the US layout, and French speakers go for a European layout.
I remember some of our early Chromebooks had Canadian keyboards, and students and teachers revolted.
I think they're referring to the obsession that some people have to trans issues.
>safari is NOT capable of PWAs...
> They deliberately hobble PWAs and make them very difficult to install.
Hit the share button, "Add to Home Screen" is very difficult to install?
The big difference is that when you have a collision at a 4-way or 2-way stop, it is almost always a "T-Bone" collision, where all the energy hits at a right angle. These collisions kill, especially at speed.
A similar collision on a roundabout is almost always a "glancing" blow, at an angle, and rarely causes injury or death.
Roundabouts force you to slow down when approaching. Stop signs can be ignored. Roundabouts can't.
No wireless. Less space than a nomad. Lame.
Crazy having to fight with insurance providers to get basic health care.
I've sent in corrections to Apple Maps in Portugal (shopping mall is 1km away from the location on Apple Maps) and Canada (speed camera does not exist). Both were taken care of within a couple of days.
I think the proxy must be on the same machine, otherwise why are they suggesting editing the /etc/hosts file?
I visited this ZX Spectrum museum in this summer:
https://loadzx.com/en/So strange to stumble upon this blast from the 80s in a small town in the middle of Portugal. But I think this reinforces the fact that the Spectrum was to Europe what the C64 was to North America.
Anyway, wonderful memories in there!
I think a lot of is that traplines are a property right that will go away if they aren't inherited. So people use them because they inherited them.
It's a disk image, because in the old days, you'd install apps by dragging them from a floppy or CD to the Applications folder.
how did you convert them? Was it a software or hardware thing?
