Re:Fake News Could Lead to Real War on Tuesday July 16, 2019 @01:25PM (#20452039)
I agree with the warnings in the article and the statement that after talking to officials the author believes that Iran was indeed behind the tanker attacks is incredible: only hard evidence is credible.
To reliably detect fake news a system should do fact checking, not calculating probabilities.
Re:Football, My Dad’s Dementia, and Me on Saturday September 22, 2018 @10:21AM (#18046061)
Although there is no scientific evidence, many have reversed dementia. I suggest to go to brokenbrain.com and drperlmutter.com to get yourself informed.
If one likes to continue living in a democracy one should not use votes to make somebody disappear. Not under any circumstances.
I recommend to read some articles about student debt and take that also into consideration.
Average age by itself is not very insightful. Happiness, illness, cause of death, wars and spending on health care are more insightful and will show a very different bubble graph.
Let's simplify things: AI is nothing more than feeding a decision model a lot of data so that AI can 'intelligently' copy decisions. Doctors only have unproven theories about the causes of cancer and the traditional therapies do not cure but merely kill. When the best AI system of the far future is fed with the data of today, it will fail also because the data does not contain a solution.
I expect that they will invest in Mill Computing which is designing a CPU which will be most likely faster than Xeon and uses 10x less power.
Rich preppers do not get it. Food is #1 to survive short term and long term. They need a large farm and a community
It is sad to see that the "positive result" is a reduction in cognitive decline. That is not being called a medicine. Fortunately, Dr Dale Bredesen has a treatment that reverses Alzheimer's in 9 out of 10 patients.
A few days ago naturalness.com had an article about this topic and refers to 3 scientific studies that show that the more toxins the mother was exposed to, the less IQ the child has. It is a linear function.
Re:What to Do When a Loved One Is Severely Depressed on Friday June 08, 2018 @03:26PM (#17268889)
What I did is watch the 8 hour docuseries at www.brokenbrain.com and learn from 50 doctors what the various causes are and how to treat these caused. It did help me a lot to understand depression but my depressed son does not want to watch the docuseries. Sigh.
The industry simply is not as smart as Dr Dale Bredesen who reverses Alzheimer's in 9 out of 10 patients.
You do need to have a foundation which you can learn in a university but also outside a university. My bet is that you can learn it faster and cheaper outside university.
A or not A = true So to be or not to be can be represented by 'true'
All of the above: lying, incompetent and inept.
Re:What causes YouTube to take down videos? on Thursday April 05, 2018 @09:11AM (#16764533)
The guidelines are just BS. There is no good reason to remove the channel of the veganist. Nor is there any good reason to remove the channel of the HealthRanger (see www.naturalmews.com).
Re:Ask HN: Where to relocate business in Europe from UK on Tuesday March 27, 2018 @07:50AM (#16687403)
I would consider Dublin. Besides the language advantage it has lower taxes.
Re:Scientists successfully remove Alzheimer's from mice on Tuesday March 27, 2018 @07:38AM (#16687323)
I am not impressed. Years ago Dr Dale Bredesen already removed Alzheimer from 9 out of 10 humans.
Re:What the F*** Was Facebook Thinking? on Wednesday March 21, 2018 @09:49AM (#16637933)
Dagobert Duck can answer this best.
Re:Chip advances require fresh ideas, speakers say on Wednesday February 14, 2018 @02:27PM (#16378553)
I suggest to look at Mill Computing. They are designing a new CPU which has the power of Intel, the security of a mainframe and the power usage of Raspberry Pi.
Re:Y Combinator Will Give You $1M to Try to Cure Aging on Thursday January 18, 2018 @07:17AM (#16176516)
There is a lot of evidence that oxidative stress is a major "cause". But one has to look at what causes oxidative stress. There is a lot of scientific literature about this topic. Dr Dale Bredesen has a method (not a medicine) to successfully treat Alzheimer's: 9 out of 10 patients are cured. He is currently doing a larger study and might be interested in Y Combinator since his method has many variables and he wants to use software to make it available to many doctors.
