There's a 3D POV game on Android, Unmatched Air Traffic Control that's quite good

What about Unmatched Air Traffic Control on Android?

3D POV

This sounds particularly useful to me. As a shut-in. Not a vampire.

There is a much larger market for this tech - parents. Today's world is so crowded, kids or parents can be separated by less than 20 feet and devolve into panic. Give them each a way to know they're safe and can be found. You're already awesome, wish more people could share like you have, magnificent designs!

How did they not say "fire sale"??
And this is why https://www.floppydisk.com/ is still doing well.

Re:How to be a -10x Engineer on Tuesday April 04, 2023 @05:06PM (#35445866)
"The engineer(s) that wrote the offensive code were almost certainly not idiots."

Bold statement, but closer to accurate than the first impression.

Also they're frequently arrested, and if their "belongings" are unsafe (biologically contaminated, disgusting) they'll be discarded or ignored by police, if the person hasn't seen the police coming and thrown their belongings aside in the hopes of coming back for them later. Sad all around.

TIL that the uncanny valley can apply to mathematics.
Re:Take more screenshots on Monday July 25, 2022 @07:22AM (#32222937)
How do you setup OBS to keep the recording sizes tolerable?

I've used this before on engineering grade machines, but it doesn't do so well on "everything is in the cloud so you can use a word processor quality" laptop, any advice?

Re:Copilot sells code other people wrote on Thursday June 23, 2022 @03:25PM (#31854040)
They might argue that a snippet isn't a "substantial portion" of "the Software", and they're only charging for the service not the content - regardless, I don't like it, this is exactly what certain licenses attempt to prevent.

Just like freeways - add more traffic lanes, get more traffic.

Solid competitor to https://hackmd.io/ (codimd on github)
Why not PasswordPassword1?
I like this argument more knowing it circles back to the "guess what the IRS knows" game earlier. :)
Risk was already there. Have you seen the way interns drive?
I believe 0 and 1 belong in the public domain, at least under US copyright law - there appears to be a significant amount of prior art.

Figs are disgusting. Now I'll try and visualize desirable kinds of things as fig trees, making it easier to quickly pass them up and go for something I'd want more. Thanks.

As a pragmatic AWS fan, +1 this. Disposable distributed hybrid multi-cloud architecture FTW.
Re:“Click to subscribe, call to cancel” is illegal, FTC says on Wednesday November 17, 2021 @10:30AM (#29254373)
In general "should" is a recommendation, not a requirement.

    "shall" indicates a requirement
    "should" indicates a recommendation
"may" is used to indicate that something is permitted
"can" is used to indicate that something is possible, for example, that an organization or individual is able to do something

Additionally, your suggestion of "must" has valid reasons for being preferred in contracts over "shall":

Re:I'm “still afraid to use spaces in file names” years old on Thursday November 11, 2021 @12:35PM (#29190643)
As a software engineer, I require testing of paths and files in spaces, and forbid the use of spaces for any system generated file possible to make cli easier.
Sadly even some randsomware provides a phone number with useful tech support to help grandparents learn to purchase and transfer bitcoin. :/
A reasonable compromise would probably be to require that discrete parts be available for sale, hopefully with some reasonable price standard, not requiring that devices be designed to have more parts. If it's economical for the manufacturer to move to a SoC, fine. They should at least let people buy them. Any R2R law should incentivizes manufacturers not to make disposable unrepairable products, because business is about making money, generally opposed to acting responsibly in the best interests of the public and the world. Again, opinion.

According to a reliable source - hat logos - there is a country that might someday rejoin that elite group. ("MAGA" political hats: "Make America Great Again". There is so much to read into that in the political climate.

Anyone hearing one abhors a vacuum; in fact they are designed to amplify certain sounds, such as dust particles passing through the system. Consumers equate "loud" with "powerful" and this improves sales and product opinions. Yes, I'm aware this is a different kind of vacuum.
