Have you ever used flutter? If so, what's the relative pain level like?

I can't tell if this is a joke or a sign that the good lord needs to cleanse the earth with fire

Re:Ukraine Can't Stop Russia's Jet-Powered Shahed Drone on Wednesday September 30, 2026 @01:19PM (#49911773)
The original drone design was based on prop driven shaheed drones, which were both supplied directly by Iran as well as being manufactured (and further developed) in Russia.

Calling it a propaganda twist ignores how the thing came to be.

> You wouldn't ask why a paper was so long.

I've asked myself that question a whole bunch of times

Maybe not on the investment/new hotness side, but as a user I'm not clamoring for greater LLM integration. Maybe I'm a Luddite, though.
Re:Thoughts on Go vs. Rust vs. Zig on Tuesday December 09, 2025 @09:42AM (#46205405)
Seems like it's just a comment written by someone with little to no experience using zig.
Re:Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues on Tuesday November 18, 2025 @09:06AM (#45966183)
Why settle for just one?
Re:SSL Configuration Generator on Friday November 14, 2025 @08:00PM (#45934088)
I tend to expand TLS thread-local storage, so SSL is less confusing for me.

Re:Serverless Horrors on Sunday September 07, 2025 @11:27AM (#45159033)
To paraphrase Rainer Wolfcastle - the budgets do nothing!

You get a warning. There's no service cutoffs or hard limits on spending.

Re:Death by PowerPoint: the slide that killed seven people on Saturday August 30, 2025 @03:43PM (#45077437)
The external fuel tank, whence came the foam that stuck the wing, leading to the loss of Columbia.
Re:Mosh (Mobile Shell) on Thursday August 28, 2025 @12:20PM (#45054018)
I've tried mosh several times and always found it to be more annoying than tmux/screen + living with the reality of dropped connections on mobile.
Re:Google Did Not Unilaterally Decide to Kill XSLT on Friday August 22, 2025 @06:31PM (#44990699)
> Since I suppose none of the browser vendors will give developers money to change their xslt usage in codebases for something else.

Let's turn that around: are you willing to pay a browser vendor to keep supporting xslt so you can keep your codebase unchanged?

Re:U.S. government takes 10% stake in Intel on Friday August 22, 2025 @06:23PM (#44990610)
Unless it comes from the Commie region of Asia, it's just sparkling state capitalism.
Re:Zig 0.15.1 Release Notes on Thursday August 21, 2025 @08:13AM (#44971788)

Re:AWS in 2025: The Stuff You Think You Know That's Now Wrong on Thursday August 21, 2025 @12:09AM (#44968951)
Aren't LTO formats only backward compatible with the immediate prior version?
Re:GitHub is (again) having issues on Tuesday August 12, 2025 @11:54AM (#44878020)
Yeah, I think what people really liked about git (vs many other VCSs at the time) was cheap and easy local branching, not the distributed nature.
Re:GitHub is (again) having issues on Tuesday August 12, 2025 @11:19AM (#44877405)
It's kind of weird that we've collectively decided on a distributed version control system, while centralizing where we keep the repositories and metadata.
Re:GitHub is (again) having issues on Tuesday August 12, 2025 @10:47AM (#44876925)
Actually, the big problem for me is that github doesn't have issues at the moment.
Re:Zig-Error-Patterns on Thursday August 07, 2025 @10:45AM (#44825163)
It's weird that you've been downvoted for essentially restating what Zig's BFDN said when closing an issue related to error payloads:

Re:We'd be Better Off with 9-bit Bytes on Thursday August 07, 2025 @09:01AM (#44823952)

They make frisbee-sized CPUs.
Re:You might not need tmux on Friday August 01, 2025 @07:44PM (#44763641)
I don't think I've ever intentionally used the scroll back search in iterm2 and deliberately disabled the shortcut for it because I kept triggering it by accident. I don't understand wanting or needing it, at all.
Why would leaving an unsecured bike to catch thieves be illegal? Entrapment is when law enforcement gets people to commit crimes they wouldn't have considered committing otherwise.

Plus your lawyer needs to make a convincing case that you only took the bike because the cops left it unsecured to trick you, and not because just you're a thief who stole some shit and got caught. Tough row to hoe.

Do they have foundry customers? Serious question; I remember Gelsinger's IFS announcement and that they had some launch partners, but haven't seen much since.
Re:Intel CEO Letter to Employees on Thursday July 24, 2025 @05:36PM (#44676524)
I for one would welcome our new AI overlords a bit more if C-suite jobs were the get first ones LLM'd into obsolescence.
Well it's an hour later and nobody got vaporized in response, so it probably wasn't Russian space nukes.
If you're not already off VMware or actively planning an exit, you're a fool.
Re:Unsafe and Unpredictable: My Volvo EX90 Experience on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @05:30PM (#44653227)
Interestingly, Zeeker is owned by the same Chinese parent company as Volvo, Geely auto.
It'd be more surprising if he wasn't, tbh.
