Broke my wrist snowboarding which ended up with my wrist getting pinned back together. After it surgically "fixed" and healed and I started using that hand again, I got super inflamed tendons in my wrist to the point it would wake me up a night and barely able to use a normal mouse at work. I ended up trying 3 different types of ergo mice, none of which helped. In desperation I ended up ordering the pen tablet, it felt good in my hand right away and after struggling with brain/hand/cursor location for 2 weeks it's become my preferred method. I mapped the shortcut keys on the tablet to copy/paste/middle click/ double click which is awesome.
For me the tablet lives right in-front of the keyboard, just like a laptop trackpad. I tried off to the side, but couldn't get used to it.
I have many fond memories playing Marble Blast on a G5 iMac as a teen, I think it came to our Internet-less house bundled with the iMac along with Glider Pro which I think came via CD.
I managed to get Marble Blast ultra running on my Steam deck, but the controls weren't amazing. Marble It Up runs like a top, and scratches that itch I have for the original.
I dislike this as well, as this is conditioning people to not second guess why a third party website is sending you to your bank to login. As well as scam websites I've come across that mirror the authentication process down to every step you would have when using it for legitimate purposes. Scam website>Scam Interact login parter>Scam web banking login> stolen bank credentials.
Edit: It would appear the browser extensions can directly access the web interface without needing the stand alone 1Password application installed. As I run the standalone 1Password + browser extension, it can fall back on the locally stored database if the servers go offline.
"Due to complexities in their manufacturing line, a popular toothpaste company would occasionally, accidentally, ship empty boxes to their customers.
Not only did the boxes cost money to ship, but when customers received the boxes they would often complain. Ultimately the toothpaste company began to lose customers who would seek out inventory for their stores from other, more reliable suppliers.
One day the factory gathered their top managers and creative minds and told them they would need to focus their efforts on solving the empty box problem.
After nearly six months and hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on research and ideation, the factory came up with what they thought was a fairly smart smart solution to their problem. They would add highly sensitive scales to the factory line.
Any time an empty box would reach the scale it would be weighed, the line would stop and a loud buzzer would sound, at which point a factory worker would need to walk over and remove the empty box. Problem solved, right?
Yet the company quickly ran into another issue: just a few months after rolling out the new scale system there were no empty boxes being reported. The scales weren't encountering any empty boxes at all.
Confused by the results, the factory manager traveled down to the factory from his city office to see what was going on. He noticed that by one of the supply lines, just a few feet before one of the new scales, someone had placed an inexpensive desk fan. The manager noticed that as boxes rolled down the line, empty ones would merely be blown off the belt by the desk fan.
When asked about the fan, an employee on the factory line standing nearby explained: "Oh that? We put it there when we got tired of hearing the buzzer ring."
I woke up at 7:15 AM MST to what I though was a freight truck loading boxes at the business next door. Rumbling, thudding noises. Very faint. Promptly ignored it and tried to go back to sleep, a few moments later my sister 100 KM outside of my location on a off-grind property texted me asking if I could hear thunder/fireworks like noises outside. Noise probably lasted 10-15 minutes.
I did some napkin math for speed of sound and it gets close.

And backups. With 1Password 8, you have no choice but to upload everything to their cloud. And if you don't trust their backups online, and want to follow the 1-2-3 rule you have to spend a lot of time finding the local cache 1Password keeps so you can make a backup by syncing a folder, or use the export feature which doesn't create a perfect mirror of what is stored in 1Password when it comes to tags, links, documents
That being said BitWarden uses Electron and Angular for their desktop apps as well.
Mozilla has Firefox Focus for iOS, it does Ad Blocking but it's main selling point is No Tracking, No history and No synced bookmarks either
For cable TV content which I don't have, The channels run ads. Which makes the channel owner money who then is supposed to pay the artists.
If the artists aren't getting anything from that, that's a problem between them and their distributor. A problem that isn't going to magically get fixed by a TV OS running ads, of which the artist very likely never sees a cent of either.
Lets say Netflix was free, and they ran ads in their content. Would I have a problem with that? No, they are providing free content and I would not mind watching ads. Or how about cable TV? People are already paying for Channels and getting blasted with Ads every 15 min or so, why should the TV OS "layer" Ads on top of Ads?
I own a LG TV... it's not allow to access my network because of Ad "Layers" and I run everything through an Apple TV. At least that way, I see no Ads on paid content, and just 1 layer of ads on free content.
For video editing I was very surprised at how quickly I picked up / understood the Free version of Davinci Resolve after looking for a Final Cut replacement for my gaming PC.

Other than that, most of the time DDG gets me better results than Google. I work in the trades and look up a lot of tools/tool reviews and google results are a dumpster fire of bad results full of these odd adsites that all look similar, have obvious generated URLs, and clone amazon descriptions and reviews. They are also ranked high on page 1 of Googles search results, and the trust worthy sites are getting pushed down or even to the next page.
Has the same blocking capabilities, however it is not just install and run like LS is. It needs a little configuring to get it to behave like LS, and (For me) it took a bit till I understood what to turn on and what rules to enable. Once I had the rules setup, it's basically the same. Once an app wants to connect you can let it connect once, until terminated, for forever, to once domain only, or any domain.
Now I use NetLimiter 4: https://www.netlimiter.com/
Among other features like process blocking, it has a process list not very different than this utility as well has bandwidth graphing over a period in time which is very useful in tracking down bandwidth hogs on a monthly capped DSL line. https://www.netlimiter.com/docs/netlimiter-overview/features...
