Oh, good—I've been looking for a Round one for years.

How is it abuse to use the feature as advertised? If they only wanted, say, 1 TB per user, then why not limit it to 1 TB per user? Only a vanishingly small number of people would even notice. The only difference is "unlimited cloud storage" doesn't sound as good in ads as "1 TB cloud storage". That's just marketing writing checks that engineering can't cash, that's nothing new.

Are you off your rocker or just completely unfamiliar with the history of human rights and civil liberties?

Oh, and what for?

In boardgame communities, it’s called “Cult of the New”.

Thats a bad misread.

Isn't it weird that the people that don't create value are also the people with all the money, though?

Farmers—as in, the land-owning famers—are generally wealthy people.

What you're describing is called "Trickle Down Economics", and has led to 50 years of economic failure.

> now you have people fighting in the street over stupid things like politics.

Politics is how we interact with each other as a group, how we make decisions as a society and put those decisions into effect. That seems like one of the least stupid things I can think of.

> wasn't like that before my time

As the great William Martin Joel once said, "We didn't start the fire. It was always burning, since the world's been turning."

> you probably dont know that once in the country it was acceptable to have differing political opinions

"acceptable to have differing political opinions" is not the same thing as "all political opinions were acceptable". The former was true, and still is. The later never was true, and never will be. But supporters of deeply unpopular opinions always try to pretend those two things are the same.

Disney's research lab did something along these lines some years ago for making a point follow a path. You draw a path, and it generates the linkages required to match that path as closely as possible. They've had a lot of follow-up work since, but I remember this video for it: https://youtu.be/DfznnKUwywQ?si=F-5NZxKu4hP_mand

Good choice in using the city hall for Buffalo, although the entrance shown is entirely made up.

On the other hand, I can’t tell what St. Petersburg is supposed to be. Is that the Dali Museum?

That's how German culture as it is was created in the first place. And that's how the future German culture will be created, ad infinitum.

How miserable that sounds. And how limiting.

Yaaaaasssss. It's one of games that's both delightful, and short.

If you live near a Costco, you can. The one near me is opening in a week, and I can't wait.

I agree, this isn't the cheapest way to develop. I just don't think I'd call it "fraud".

I have trouble imagining you misread the comment you were replying to, that badly, accidentally.

Re:8 in 10 Americans oppose live-streaming execution on Monday October 19, 2026 @09:46AM (#50152442)
The sanest option is not to have capital crimes, that way nobody can commit them.
> procurement fraud looks quite different (e.g. having anpart for your weapon made in every congressional district, a tactic developed for the B-1)

Why is that fraud? That seems more like congresspeople having something to offer each other, to build up relationships and interdependence. What we have now is that our 2 parties don’t care about each other and don’t need each other, so there’s no reason for them to work together.

> Regular buyers are gamers who spend a lot of time playing games.

Sadly, like most things, Buying Games and Playing Games are 2 different hobbies.

Have you played Öoo?
> An average person who makes regular game purchases likes long games. They want value for their money, and the number of hours is a big factor.

Is that the case? Or do they want short games, so they can complete it and move on to the next game. If you’re buying games regularly, either they’re shorter games, or you’re not completing them all—in which case, the length doesn’t really matter. Or looking at it the other way, if you like long games, and you’re completing them, you’re not buying games regularly.

More interesting than each other?

O shit, I didn't even think of that. I've got a few of those kicking around, honestly I was just using them as doorstops at this point.

> you do need a really capable computer though

They suggest a pair of Mac Studios w/ M5 Ultra chips and 512 GB of RAM. A single Mac Studio w/ M5 Ultra and half that RAM (256 GB) is around $11k, and the 512 GB option isn't even available yet. So.... yeah.
