it's not a bullshit machine because its output is bad, it's a bullshit machine because its output is literally 'bullshit' as in, output that is statistically likely but with no factual or reasoning basis. as the models have improved, their bullshit is more statistically likely to sound coherent (maybe even more likely to be 'accurate'), but no more factual and with no more reasoning.

I don't know. Which wing, and what's an example of the suppression they did openly?
I watched the video and immediately tested it on my iphone. It's true?? About 50% of the time, typing "Thumb" resulted in "Thimb" or "Thjmb", while the visual feedback on the keyboard showed u being pressed instead!

Other comments here say Predictive Text is the culprit, but I already had that off. I also turned off Slide to Type. Same result.

Do you think that LLMs are not biased / less biased than humans?
> Being able to fire employees is a great use of AI and should not be restricted.

Can you elaborate on this?

I'm glad Tesla is pivoting to a product that can drop your bag of groceries in the worst case, instead of one that can slam you into a concrete divider at 75mph.
This is the classic mistake all AI hypemen make by assuming code is an asset, like crops. Code is a liability and you must produce as little of it as possible to solve your problem.

Is this some kind of copypasted AI output? There are unformatted footnote numbers at the end of many sentences.

README oozes ai generated copy.
Re:AI Generated Music Barred from Bandcamp on Tuesday January 13, 2026 @03:34PM (#46607506)
Spotify has a history of intentionally boosting internally produced, royalty-free and/or AI music over actual artists.

Re:AI Generated Music Barred from Bandcamp on Tuesday January 13, 2026 @03:28PM (#46607417)
That's not "generating" the music with AI - that's isolating the tracks of existing music. Probably not generative AI at all, and depending on who you ask, not even AI.

This is why it is to these generative AI companies' benefit that 'AI' becomes a catchall term for everything, from what enemies are programmed to do in video games to a spambot that creates and uploads slop facebook videos on the hour.

onedrive app doesn't come preinstalled on your phone, or aggressively try to trick you into using it.
It is very funny to start your article off with a bunch of breathless headlines about agents replacing human coders by the end of 2025, none of which happened, then the rest of the article is "okay but this time for real, an agent really WILL replace human coders."

You don't have to go 'back' to find Palestinians alive, today, who can point at their settler-occupied homes on a map, and tell you the day they were kicked out. I think that's a reasonable cutoff point for right of return.

Personally try to do what better? Run Mozilla? Make a browser?

> Firefox will grow from a browser into a broader ecosystem of trusted software. Firefox will remain our anchor. It will evolve into a modern AI browser and support a portfolio of new and trusted software additions.

Please don't.

if you liked toribash, also check out Your Only Move Is Hustle (or YOMI hustle) which is similarly 'turn based' but in 2d. Closest thing I've found to playable Xiao Xiao.
Re:No more "check mail from other accounts" in Gmail web on Thursday October 02, 2025 @09:57AM (#45449663)
especially if you have a custom domain with google workspace (or whatever it's named now). my switch to pointing my domain from google to proton was totally painless, you can migrate all your old emails, etc.

i imagine if you just have an @gmail.com it might be a little more annoying what with having to do forwarding, but still worth it.

> OpenAI created AI tech decades ahead of estimates. And they just signed a 100B deal with Nvidea.

Definitely don't look into the financial details of that deal with Nvidia!

> Every engineer I see in coffee shops uses AI. All my coworkers use AI. I use AI.

Okay

> AI nearly solved protein folding.

FAH predates OpenAI by fifteen years and ChatGPT 3 by twenty. Do not fall for Altman's conflation of LLMs with every other form of machine learning he and OpenAI had nothing to do with!

> As AI gets smarter, access to AI will be a fundamental driver of the economy, and maybe eventually something we consider a fundamental human right.

My product is going to be the fundamental driver of the economy. Even a human right!

> Maybe with 10 gigawatts of compute, AI can figure out how to cure cancer.

How?

> We are particularly excited to build a lot of this in the US; right now, other countries are building things like chips fabs and new energy production much faster than we are, and we want to help turn that tide.

There's the appeal to the current administration.

> Over the next couple of months, we’ll be talking about some of our plans and the partners we are working with to make this a reality. Later this year, we’ll talk about how we are financing it

Beyond parody.

> didn't google just prove there is little to no environmental harm, INCLUDING if you account for training?

> There is constant active rhetoric around the sycophancy, and ways to reduce this, right? OpenAI just made a new benchmark specifically for this.

We have investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing

> Im uneducated here, honestly. I don't ask a lot of race-based questions to my LLMS I guess

Do you have to ask a race-based question to an LLM for it to give you biased or racist output?

My worst offender for scraping one of my sites was Anthropic. I deployed an ai tar pit (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=42725147) to see what it would do it with it, and Anthropic's crawler kept scraping it for weeks. I calculated the logs and I think I wasted nearly a year of their time in total, because they were crawling in parallel. Other scrapers weren't so persistent.
A little disappointed to see Charm hop on AI as well.
For the record I also dislike the top brass at Mozilla for the same reasons I dislike Eich - trendchasing instead of making a good browser. Firefox is succeeding because of the engineers and despite the c-suite.
Brendan Eich was fired for opposing gay marriage, then went on to create Brave, which is yet another Chromium wrapper just with bad crypto monetization and other scummy practices.
> You cannot stop people from making the world worse or better.

I can think of quite a few ways to do this.

> Normally, it is undesirable for users’ passwords to be cracked. However, in the case of law enforcement, we often need to obtain suspects’ passwords in order to access encrypted evidence. The obvious solution is to build powerful (and expensive) dictionary cryptanalysis computers. A less obvious approach is to use the distributed power of web users’ computers, as has been done in the Seti@Home (https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ — suspended project) or Folding@Home projects (https://foldingathome.org/). The proposed approach can therefore support law enforcement activities while providing the desired functionality to the web community

"You're not allowed to visit this website unless you submit your computer to being part of the fed's password cracking botnet" that's a whole fresh hell. A better use case is right there in their own description! I'd love my captchas to be little Folding@Home problems.

You fell for it if you think this is ever going to happen.
