I've actually never tried to get an Azure instance. Azure can't earn my trust with SSO, let alone hosting my compute.

Discord has done wonders for gaming shops keeping people connected and organizing in between weekly game sessions.

Meetup could be superceded by the hitch/tinder model to organize activities with individuals over scheduled events ran by organizers.

Re:CodePen 2.0 on Thursday July 30, 2026 @04:30PM (#49115347)
A CodePen api/protocol that supports a local ide opening a CodePen, making changes in the user's developer tooling and pushing back to the pen would be a game changer.

VCS extensions for jetbrains and vscode could hook into an api and smoothly pull and push pens. This feature was always my hangup for using CodePen as a UI playground.

I switched to js for dev related scripting after seeing how much python scripting is used for portable c++ projects like chromium.

A node glob() or a regexp string.replace call is probably easier to read than spaghetti shell.

And your llm might do a much better job of creating clean, readable and testable code.

Re:TypeScript 7 on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @06:11PM (#48838072)
Major ts pain point is scoping tsconfig settings for lib and types configurable for subsets of a project.

My project is a webapp, but I have node types in my ide tooling because of vite.config.ts, and playwright and unit tests. If I add a node api to a react component, tsc won't complain.

Current method to isolate dom lib from node lib requires project reference spaghetti, numerous tsconfig.json and tsbuildinfo output files, and avoiding emitting types with project references is cumbersome.

Re:TypeScript 7 on Wednesday July 08, 2026 @05:59PM (#48837958)
When I start a hobby project without types, and then get mental fatigue when returning to a shelved codebase and add ts, I find lots of bugs just by adding types.
