Re:Do dentists know what they're doing? on Thursday October 15, 2026 @04:51AM (#50101016)
Author claims it’s to show the "correlation of nice dental offices to attractive support staff". Even so, this observation could have been 1 line, yet it's repeatedly over-emphasised.

And men get descriptors based on their possessions (arguably a valid way to highlight wealth divide), yet women get subjective adjectives on their appearance. Creep.

Seriously.

Wow, they were extremely laziest in the request form too. Most answers are just a few words.

At a similar time as the MacBook Neo launch, Apple unified their Device Management programmes as one 'Apple Business'. So perhaps things have improved on that front.
I wasn't clear about the skippable ads: the screenshots in this tweet only include the top-left qty and timer, not the bottom right of the screen which might be showing a 'Skip Ad' button.

The UI also looks exactly like Youtube on TVs, which from my experience, does this '3 of 10' for ALL adverts across an extended video.

This tweet has nothing to prove what they're saying, my guess is they're trying to stir up controversy.

edit: it's pretty clear that most here are more interested in sharing their dislike for ads or preferred adblocker solution, rather than even considering the legitimacy of the claims made in the tweet :(

This is misleading.

From my experience watching Youtube on a Samsung TV, the quantity are sometimes spread across an entire video, at intervals set by the creator. I.e. 8 adverts over a 1 hour video.

This is also no evidence that these adverts are not skippable.

I don't like Youtube's advertising, but this tweet is very low effort.

Re:ISO Warning Signs on Friday August 05, 2022 @09:09AM (#32355572)
In the UK, you can buy these signs from building retailers (edit: for the cost of a sign, not the ISO Standards document).

I suspect you would need to pay if you were manufacturing these signs for resale, to ensure your signs were ISO compliant.

It's certainly every time I open the Signal on Desktop.

The update experience is lacklustre. It's a large, bright, call-to-action asking me to 'Click to restart Signal'. For me, the app always functions normally if I don't update, so why the immediacy of the message.

Nvidia/Arm comes to mind as a recent acquisition prevented.
