https://www.linkedin.com/in/cleverbakerHi, I'm mbaker, full-stack engineer of 15+ years. I take on mature systems and make them better while they stay online.
At Apple that meant a full refactor of AppleCare's global training platform and the authoring tool behind it. Both stayed in daily use the whole time. Accessibility and localization got the same attention as the code.
The platform and its authoring tool went down hard twice (a year apart). The failure was below the front end. Each outage cut off 510 stores and 5,000+ service sites. Both times I traced it, brought it back, and fixed the cause. I also built the portal where users report problems and suggest solutions.
My sharpest work is UI engineering for people who decide fast. I built analyst UI for Cisco's OpenSOC, which reads 1.2M network packets a second. Analysts need the screen to pull the one thing that matters out of the noise. Building dashboards that people act on is so satisfying.
Since 2021 I've been building my own payments tooling. I'm at home between the front end and the back end, often on APIs and large JSON payloads. Payments is where I've gone deep on purpose: Stripe holds and deferred capture, invoicing, subscription commerce, micropayments, Lightning, and revenue dashboards. I'm comfortable in TypeScript, PHP, Python, and Java, on AWS or Azure.
On a team, my job is making sure the reasoning travels. The business gets engineering plans as stories with trade-offs visible. Teammates get pairing and code review. Specs arrive with the architecture decisions written in.
A payments team or a fintech company is where I want to build next. I'm in deep on money movement, the time value of money, and transaction cost optimization. And on financial visualizations that surface opportunities. I'm ready for the work that has to be right. I'd love to hear from you. Happy to walk through what you're building.

Hi all. I'm a Full Stack Engineer, seeking a small team and a big task. I jive well with Product Managers and Designers. I like working with other Engineers, each building the parts of our expertise with others for something bigger, even repairing and renewing at different times, over time, never knowing each other except by their legacy code.
I worked three years at Apple on AppleCare's global training platform, where I traced a multi-hour outage that had stopped technician certification across 510 retail stores and 5,000+ service locations, and led a six-month front-end refactor of that same platform while it stayed in daily use worldwide.
With ten years experience working in Silicon Valley, including engineering and launching projects for agencies and their clients—Walmart Labs, Telstra, Chase, and Cielo—I can work with initial, vague visions and build for real, for launch, for market.
The specific thing I'd bring your team: I'm who you hand the large, mature system nobody wants to touch, and I make it safer and faster without a rewrite and without breaking that valuable thing your customers depend on. I ship, I document, I review other people's code, and I'm straight about what I don't know (yet). If that sounds useful, I'd love to hear from you.

Full-stack Engineer here, hi. I'm looking to join a team dealing with Payments because I'm fascinated and curious about stringing together the complexities of money movement. I'm open to join a team who is working on anything new that's growing, because, even more than legacy payments, scaling out value to the masses gets my passion hyped-up.. which for me is good fuel for good work.20+ years a web dev, 10+ years in Silicon Valley; startup experience and FAANG experience, sprinkled with experience as a developer at marketing agencies.
My hard skills is why you hire me, my soft skills is why you choose me. Full cycle software development is what I do--I encourage you to scope out my skills on LinkedIn and test me on them in our interview rounds. What makes me unique is my creative problem solving abilities, my confidence to take a leap with foresight, and how I interact with the team.
The last three years, since leaving my FAANG role, I've done a deep dive on Emotional Intelligence. I thought I had emotional intelligence before, but really I only had the half of it--turns out, emotional management is just as important as empathy.
I'm an individual contributor engineer, through and through. So that you can a sense of where my attention gravitates towards, I'm also interested in Sales Engineering (as an interest, not a career), talent scouting, mentoring, and Bitcoin, non-exclusively.
Email me for work opportunities that are open now. Also, feel free to email me for possible opportunities to work together in the future.
Thank you. Cheers.

Full Stack Engineer, Michael Baker, helloStartup experience and FAANG experience. 20+ years as a web dev. Extra stoked to grow in a role working with Payments, Security, or Python.
I do Backend Engineering, UI Engineering, the pieces in-between and the parts in the cloud:
From inputs in the interface to updates to the database. Data feed, data speed and data storage to user feels, user needs and user secrets. Milestone sprints, project launches, outage recoveries, retooling and code reviewing. Full cycle app development.
I believe in the power of the mastermind effect, where two minds in harmony equals 3, or 10. I believe empathy makes teams and products succeed in the long haul. I believe optimism, confidence and persistence are key traits in an Engineer which are worth reinforcing. If you agree, let's connect, ping me, whether you have a job opportunity or not, let’s give being contacts a shot.

The current state of this technology reminds me of what acupuncture can do—it mostly stimulates the nerves and muscles and encourages blood-flow to the pin-prick.
But is this just the beginning? I think a futurist would say so. Acupuncture is ancient, but brain science is in its infancy and is backed by the internet and logarithmically-improving computational instruments.
I'm glad this article makes a reference to the history of shock-therapy and the science-fiction it inspired, because the potentials that this EEG tech is bringing to light area mind-blowing. Then again, all the life-extension and deep-learning AI technology that billionaires are steering towards sound crazy too.
I'm guessing these EEG kits will be the next major thing in wearables, maybe in 4-5 years some iteration will be adopted by the early majority. The machines can already give feedback if there is heightened brain activity or calm brain activity. How is that any different that the step counter and heart-rate monitor on your fidbit?
JavaScript developer. Expert in mobile web. http://psd2rwd.com is my bread and butter: Agency designed Photoshop files developed into front-end code, mobile/desktop responsive and QA tested on all major devices/browsers.
Front-end web developer and UX designer, working with Node.JS.
Willing/able to meet and greet in person in any major US city.
Hungry. Hard-working. Admittedly foolish.
