Re:Show HN: Run full iOS 16.5 firmware on Android Devices on Thursday October 22, 2026 @06:01PM (#50201669)
Not really, the hw from apple is much better than android hw, like A18 compare with SG8 or M1 vs x86. the software itself is mostly worst than android.
Re:OpenCode 2.0 on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @07:10PM (#50096865)
I think it's due to they are doing a funny business to parse the progress, that's pretty much vibed and no one care. Like instead of using curl's progress, they re-invented a progress tracking with the tracing interface (--trace-ascii), byte by byte :(

That 32MB ram is impressive.

Re:F-Droid 2.0: A New Chapter for Android Freedom on Thursday September 24, 2026 @04:44PM (#49836521)
I run into UI glitches and crashes, and decide to not continue using it.

Yeah, even AI could tell this design is not really polished.
Re:What do Visa and Mastercard do? An intro to card networks on Wednesday September 09, 2026 @08:27PM (#49636578)
Yep, pretty much the credit card tax. One of the most ugly things.

Hmm, a music player now use much RAM :/

Maybe it's not that obviously better when it's impltd.

No, you are not doing it solo, you are connected to the internet, just like this comment.
The people benefit from all human knowledge, future human beings.

Bro, not every guy/girl is a regex master, multi-cursor is a much better UI/UX wysiwyg editor for everyday users.
Re:Steam Machine on Wednesday November 12, 2025 @04:08PM (#45906720)
I feel the same way, it has to be priced in the range of gaming console rather than gaming PC.
Re:Steam Machine on Wednesday November 12, 2025 @02:58PM (#45905535)
Yeah, gemini gives $649 - $699 for BOM, $749+ if they want some margin from the hardware. Which is cheaper than most "Gaming PC", but still more expensive than Switch/PS5, and lack the expandability of PC.

I wish they could sell at $300-$500, that's really going to make this a must have for this year.

Yeah, it's good for them to save money for fewer traffic.
Re:CDC File Transfer on Wednesday October 01, 2025 @07:24PM (#45444811)
I use that cause it's pure user space, and doesn't require extra system feature.
Re:I regret building this $3000 Pi AI cluster on Friday September 19, 2025 @03:41PM (#45305617)
Yeah, it's only competitive as a toy for under $35, anything beyond that you can get a cheap x86 with much better performance, a much compatible architecture and much more IOs.
Re:I regret building this $3000 Pi AI cluster on Friday September 19, 2025 @03:39PM (#45305592)
This is also a proof where you can get cheaper and more perf/$ if you buy x86 based vps.
That btop stream is lagging hard now, and jumping between full cpu and idle 0%.

Is the service crashing and restarting?

Re:Matrix.org – Database Incident on Wednesday September 03, 2025 @01:24PM (#45118354)
So that means it's possible to reduce the DB size under 1TB, your recovery time would take less than 1 hour, rather >17hours.

Re:SQLite async connection pool for high-performance on Monday July 14, 2025 @07:29PM (#44566454)
Cause the sqlite-lib that python ships isn't async, and sqlite itself usually doesn't give an async API.
Re:SQLite async connection pool for high-performance on Monday July 14, 2025 @07:28PM (#44566447)
FYI, I've once had few long-lived connection with wal, and wal file just goes exploded. Turns out sqlite won't truncate the wal if there are open connections.
Re:Apple's MLX adding CUDA support on Monday July 14, 2025 @07:25PM (#44566435)
Yeah, nice to have MLX-opencl or MLX-amd-whatever
I am on it, still a little bit pricer than Comcast, but worth every penny.
