Any suggestions for Canada? I don't go often enough to find a better solution than using an ATM there, but I do go often enough to feel ripped off every time I do.

robots.txt...humans.txt nice! It reads like a movie's credit roll.

But do you really want to make it easier for a recruiter to poach your team?

Same thing in Google's C++ style guide. No FP, C++11, or boost. I find that disappointing.
I use this to download from Youtube:

Re:European Court: Used software licenses may be resold. on Tuesday July 03, 2012 @07:47AM (#4193614)
Does this ruling indirectly legitimizes DRM removal tools?

I mean, without them, how can you resell a license?

Then again, the EU has anti-circumvention rules similar to those in the DMCA.

Re:Asking An Employee To Leave The Company on Monday July 02, 2012 @09:19AM (#4188711)
Any recommendations for someone who's been fired?

How can I help someone who's been fired bounce back?

What should someone who's been fired tell potential employers why they're no longer with a previous employer?

I'm trying to help a friend, but I've never gone thru this, so I feel powerless.

Also widespread on the Internet were photographs taken in
a Hubei Province classroom of students hooked up to
intravenous drips of amino acids while cramming.
Can anybody explain to me what that's for?

This makes me wish I could use "PROT_WRITE | PROT_EXEC" with mmap() on iOS.
Re:Dr. Dobb's 2012 Salary Survey on Wednesday June 27, 2012 @12:02AM (#4165444)
What's creating this shortfall?

Too many openings?

Too many engineers working for themselves?

Too many engineers retiring?

Too many engineers going abroad?

Too many engineers interested in the same small number of niches that leaves everyone else with too few applicants?

...?

America is deep in debt, but its economy is doing comparatively well.

It's not just banks, I've had the same thing happen with my cellphone bill.
Re:Inside Apple's Thunderbolt to Ethernet Adapter on Monday June 25, 2012 @01:53AM (#4155268)
Perhaps the average consumer's satisfied with wireless speeds, and it would make economic sense to reduce the production cost of the average system by removing the ethernet port.
VLC happened?
East bay? Santa Cruz? Marin?
Re:The Benefits of Arbitrary Questions on Thursday June 21, 2012 @10:32PM (#4145139)

I tried to mitigate this by telling people not to
  bother writing a cover letter.
Aren't cover letters a dying art anyway?
Re:Here Are No Women On StackOverflow… Or Are There? on Thursday June 21, 2012 @06:13PM (#4144446)
This might be a crazy idea, but if more men posed as women, women would feel less intimidated to participate, and douchebags would have less effect on the actual women in the community.
The possible answers were probably randomly ordered.

Yup, anybody who needs to be creative for that matter. Artists, engineers, designers, etc.

I'd really like to know what your top 3 would be.
Kozmo for Coffee?

For many people, part of the point of going to a coffee shop is the social interaction and serendipitous encounters.

Good luck tho! :)

Has anyone tried to contest this rule as an illegal form of discrimination?

That same day 38 Studios employees were told their health
insurance would expire in two days.
It's in times like these that you realize the importance of universal health care. (I'm not talking about COBRA.)
Re:Are You in a Bubble? on Friday May 25, 2012 @02:57PM (#4024939)
I don't think it'll be over until Twitter IPOs and fails to pop like FB.

I think we need at least these two major brands going thru the same fate for the social networking bubble to be affected.

(3) You bring up an interesting issue. Why is there so much variance out there? Google uses 2 spaces, the linux kernel uses 8, and most people I know use 4.

Are people using such a wide range of font sizes, and font aspect ratios, that 4 spaces doesn't make sense for everyone?

"Sorry, offer not available in Seattle." ;)
tl;dr: It's in Nairobi, Kenya. Nairobi is the capital of, and the largest city of, this central-east African nation.

yay for them! :)
