Ambient | Remote | Full-Time | Principal Rust Engineer, Lead AI Researcher, Principal Python Engineer, Principal Full-stack Engineer | https://ambient.xyz/ The world economy will be denominated in machine intelligence and Ambient is building a useful proof of work cryptocurrency network to support that, where the proof of work is verified inference, fine tuning, and pre-training on a single large language model (650b + parameters) that runs on all the nodes of our network. As a mental shorthand, imagine if Open AI was powered by AI Bitcoin instead of Azure credits and was actually open source. You can read more about our approach at https://ambient.xyz/litepaper and check out our funding announcement here: https://x.com/ambient_xyz/status/1906821564731113797.

Looking for the following:

- Principal Rust or Python Engineer (especially if you're comfortable working with large distributed systems)

- AI/ML Engineers/Researchers (especially if you've worked on distributed training frameworks)

- Principal Full-stack engineer (especially if you're able to quickly build prototypes from scratch, then ship them)

To apply, please email your resume and a brief introduction to [email protected]

Re:Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (February 2025) on Monday March 03, 2025 @03:47PM (#43246496)
I've been working on verified inference at https://ambient.xyz

Lots of fun to think about the future of crypto if you're able to handle unstructured data (and I'm not really a crypto person.)

Feel free to check us out/hit us up if you're curious: [email protected]

We're implementing verified inference on the blockchain using a novel proof of work approach to ensure the integrity of the result. You can read more about our approach here: https://ambient.xyz/litepaper

Our long-term goal is to facilitate trustless training and fine-tuning of large AI models. We aim to provide an alternative to the current AI landscape dominated by a few large corporations, fostering a more transparent and inclusive approach to AI.

We're funded by well known investors and looking for engineers/researchers wanting to build something big.

Looking for the following:

- Principal Rust or Python Engineer (especially if you're comfortable working with large distributed systems)

- AI/ML Engineers/Researchers (especially if you've worked with federated training)

To apply, please email your resume and a brief introduction to [email protected]

Ambient | Remote | Full-Time | Blockchain Engineers, AI/ML Engineers/Researchers, Rust Developers

Ambient is developing a new blockchain with deep AI integration. We're implementing verified inference using a novel proof of work approach, ensuring the integrity of AI inference as different models respond uniquely to the same input.

Our long-term goal is to facilitate training and fine-tuning of models on the blockchain. We aim to provide an alternative to the current AI landscape dominated by a few large corporations, fostering a more transparent and inclusive approach to AI.

Looking for: - Blockchain Engineers (currently we're inspired by Solana, ideally you have rust experience) - AI/ML Engineers/Researchers (especially if you've worked with distributed training) - Rust Developers (especially if you have experience with large distributed systems)

To apply, please email your resume and a brief introduction to [email protected]

Re:Implementing system-versioned tables in Postgres on Wednesday February 07, 2024 @07:20AM (#39287654)
Might it be easier to just add a `last_updated_by` column? Then passing the data to the db is as simple as adding it to the insert and it would be automatically stored in the history table as well without needing any special handling.
I think more interesting is the story of how a young woman did write Frankenstein.

I highly recommend Romantic Outlaws[1] a book which interleaves the lives of Mary Shelly and her mother Mary Wollstonecraft (mentioned in the article as well.) After learning more about her life, I felt authoring Frankenstein was pretty in character for Mary Shelley.
