"There are no solutions, only trade-offs" 100% based Sowell. I first heard him debate when watching Milton Friedman's "Free to Choose" series (found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dngqR9gcDDw&list=PLTplBPPoWd... ) and immediately got his books.

this is why food is cheap people. I used to drive corn and pea combines in high school, and in the farming community it's not uncommon to have kids driving tractors as well (granted this is usually a family run farm). It's likely that the people working in the factories there knew the kids or families and made an exception to allow them to start early (still technically illegal I know). it's not child slave labor, its kids trying to make money.
Re:How we plan to de-extinct the Dodo bird on Wednesday February 01, 2023 @11:57AM (#34613409)
I worked with the Co-Founder (Ben Lamm) at Chaotic Moon and Hypergiant. If I've learned anything from the past, it's that this is likely not the future.

The pattern is: find a hot topic, hire Maven to make a nice website, raise on hype, find an exit or get booted.

I don't doubt the team actually working on things is talented. I hope they can pull it off.
