If it’s misunderstanding the command and thinking it needs an unlock twice, but then finally gets it correctly and does it without an unlock.. that actually could be explained by the microphone
I wonder if it’s using the microphone in your pocket instead of the cars mic.
My 45 year old gf went from saying she wants to skip work and go to the doctor, to passing out into a wall within 10 minutes. She went into full cardiac arrest and went into the wall so hard she broke the drywall with her head.
I called 911, ran outside to get the address while it rang, and after 30+ seconds answer I g questions and answering questions (which felt like 2+ minutes at the time), they had me start CPR. Never taken a class before.
Paramedics arrived 7 minutes later.
They used an automated chest compression machine, shocked her many times, and got some kind of signal.
Arrived to the ER still in code blue.
Turns out it was a SCAD event. 90% of women that have one die even if they get cpr.
Somehow my gf made it, and was released to home 3 days later after 2 days in the ICU. She had a stent installed within an hour of getting to the ER.
The fire department put together a reunion with the dispatcher, me, my gf, the firefighters that arrived first and did the whole thing, and the EMT team, because they say it’s not often someone survives full cardiac arrest outside a hospital.
Possibly jail if the wrong people get upset.
It shows that what we’ve been told, that flock does not do active policing of basic moving violation type infractions, is probably correct since I know people driving/riding with invalid reg and no insurance for years in the heavily monitored SF Bay Area.
I find that hard to believe. I know several people that drive trucks and motorcycles with fake registration stickers from their other cars, and without insurance, and never been flagged by flock remotely or even alerting an office that’s behind them.
You are off by one characters.
The first gen volt basically never drove the wheels via the gas engine.
Sorry, I thought we were talking about programming as a profession in the context of products and revenue generation.
Possibly because the goal is the end product that serves a purpose and has value, not the process.
If you can make your product, make the customer happy, and make your money to enjoy your life and secure your families future… why care who or what or how (as long as it’s ethical obviously).
Chevy had that with the Volt and while it has its fans, it wasn’t exactly a hit.
Honestly, a lot of people start using this line of humor when their peers do. Add in that he was young, and this was before people’s private messages being released easily to the masses was common, Im not really surprised.
People spend $30k extra to buy an Audi A6 instead of a Honda Accord daily.
So spending $1800 extra on a nice experience is still better than $30k extra.
There is a certain style of trolling that isn’t as obvious to older people.
If you were just teaching technical trivia, I would have considered that teacher a bad teacher even in the 90s.
You completely glossed over the other option I gave. Yet people that make obvious errors like this are making actual decisions about these things, and that’s where the trouble stems from.
There is a big difference between being a second class citizen, being equal but properly socialized to play an amazing role in life you specialize in, and being socialized in a way that basically destroys society if extrapolated a bit further.
If the latest apple hardware could run Linux I would be buying a good amount. But I just hate the idea of being at the whims of macOS timelines. But I guess when you’re selling more than you can produce it doesn’t really matter.
I didn’t know how spoiled I was as a teenager. My dad bought us a custom build pc from Ncal computers in Pleasanton CA. It had a matrox card, and we got a decent 17” monitor. I think eventually I even did dual monitor with it.
Reading this thread makes me realize what I probably took for granted at the time. And soon when my friends got 3dfx cards, I thought I was missing out even.
