Pixel phones outside of Japan are missing the Felica chip.

Apple pays the fee for all phones in the world to have the chip. Google only pays for Japan devices.

As someone who has worked with interns for year, expect feedback and reiterations always, be surprised if they get it the first time... which merits feedback as well!

But looks like the intern mafia is bombarding you with downvotes.

not OP, but I got it running on my 4090 (and RAM) by following this guide: https://unsloth.ai/docs/models/qwen3-coder-next

I see around 30 t/s

Re:Claude Code Daily Benchmarks for Degradation Tracking on Thursday January 29, 2026 @10:02PM (#46820068)
You are funny. Anthropic refuses to issue refunds, even when they break things.

I had an API token set via an env var on my shell, and claude code changed to read that env var. I had a $10 limit set on it, so found out it was using the API, instead of my subscription, when it stopped working.

I filed a ticket and they refused to refund me, even though it was a breaking change with claude code.

Re:Linode / Akamai US-EAST is down on Sunday July 27, 2025 @07:27AM (#44700496)
Yes, it has gotten worse as time progressed. Some k8s services started to fail, which is how I noticed something was wrong. Then the k8s control plane was up and down. Then k8s control plan completely done. Now I can't even connect to any of my non k8s servers over ssh.
Re:Qwen3-Coder: Agentic coding in the world on Tuesday July 22, 2025 @06:53PM (#44653943)
Looks like the docs have a typo:

Recommended context: 65,536 tokens (can be increased)
That should be recommended token output, as shown in the official docs as:

Adequate Output Length: We recommend using an output length of 65,536 tokens for most queries, which is adequate for instruct models.
Gotta drive traffic to that blog of AI generated posts somehow

I use Open WebUI for when I want a website with some more features than a terminal provides.

Sorry to be blunt, but HN is not for proofreading/vetting/reviewing your article. You should be doing that before you post it, if you are considering it to be high quality.
Re:ICQ will stop working from June 26 on Friday May 24, 2024 @05:42PM (#40470713)
Mirabilis contacted you?

I worked on some ICQ software in high school, and was the maintainer of large user base ICQ clone. I still own the domain: licq.org

Never got a single job offer, guess they saw my code and went running away ;)

新しい扉が開き

が makes the subject the door, not JAXA. Plus it would be very uncharacteristic of a Japanese person in that position making such a bold claim. It goes against Japanese society norms.

Yes, but... 新しい扉が開き vs 新しい扉を開き
Actually Japanese quote from the Project Manager, Sakai-san, is:

> いろんな意味で新しい扉が開き、今後、これまでできなかったようなミッションができるようになるのでは。そこが一番の意義ではないか

I'm far from a translator... but it is not "We opened a door" but "A door is open to do missions that were not possible before". And he says that might be the most important takeaway from this project.

Re:A battery has replaced Hawaii's last coal plant on Wednesday January 10, 2024 @03:50PM (#38942903)
Two days ago there was a storm that damaged some generators and left the batteries very low that they resorted to rolling blackouts, as there was not enough electricity for the island.

Curious to which Google class action payout you are talking about.

I'm still waiting for the check from https://googleplaydevelopersettlement.com/, was it this one?

Re:Vespa.ai is spinning out of Yahoo as a separate company on Wednesday October 04, 2023 @08:27PM (#37773482)
It's a bit more nuanced than that. The merger was awhile ago, ZHoldings was the parent company of Yahoo! JP and Line.

ZHoldings is now Line Yahoo.

The footer of yahoo.co.jp has changed from Yahoo! Japan / ZHoldings to Line Yahoo.

Re:Vespa.ai is spinning out of Yahoo as a separate company on Wednesday October 04, 2023 @04:42PM (#37771447)
They actually rebranded from "Yahoo! Japan" to "Line Yahoo" https://www.lycorp.co.jp/ja/
WAIT, are you insulting my emacs?

/s of course

I would like to know the backstory, since this made the front page though.

Re:Ask HN: What is your go to idiot-filter question in interviews? on Wednesday December 07, 2022 @05:25PM (#33901218)
Go would use the value as the key and boolean or `struct{}{}` for the map value.
Re:Identity management for WireGuard networks on Wednesday October 19, 2022 @03:41PM (#33266983)
I had a similar issue, clearing history and website data in Settings > Safari and reinstalling fixed it for me. I may have rebooted the iPhone as well for good measure.
That looks like it requires disclosure of the owners to the US government, not on the public record. If I'm misunderstanding the documents you linked, please let me know.
If you prefer to use a pseudonym, why not just register an LLC? There are services out there that will register your company and be your registered agent in states that do not require your name ever made public (Wyoming for example). These services also provide a mailbox that would work for anything you need.

You can then get a business checking account (Mercury works well) with your newly registered business.

You can then create a business account on Apple and Google (and anywhere else).

All of the public facing information will be your company name. If you want more details or help, just ask here.

Yep, that is the timing we had our Google Pay account suspended
Sounds like what I experienced last year: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26918013

There were issues with getting our Mercury account validated with Google Pay.

That information is completely derived from the phone number.
Sounds like I'll have to stop lurking to get ready for this.
Google's support has really taken a turn for the worse.

We had our Google Pay (not Play, Pay) account suspended following the instructions that Google Play Support gave us to add our new bank account.

Long story, still dealing with it, but here is a summary: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26918013
