This question is so important: > "what problem do I wish someone else would solve for me?"

Otherwise you might fall in the trap thinking just because a problem is hard, it's worth starting a startup to solve it.

Cool project!

I‘m fascinated by how easy it is became to set up “infinitely“ scalable services like this.

Paul Graham just recommended this article on twitter: https://twitter.com/paulg/status/1314260316134531075

On Firefox I use Redirector, I set it to redirect from

  ^(https*:\/\/)(?!www)([a-z]+)\.wikipedia\.org\/wiki\/(.+)
to

  https://$2.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/$3
Works well!

I don't understand why they can't have a status page "without google" (or something like S3 or anything behind cloudflare). Can someone explain?
Re:Show HN: Editor Blending Markdown, Blocks and Wysiwyg on Wednesday August 19, 2020 @02:08PM (#24213786)
The adaption of markdown usually ends where "non-markdown people" have to edit markdown documents. This really changes the game!
Interesting! Never heard of pizza steel before. I've been using a pizza stone in a regular 230 °C oven for quite some time now. Do you think a pizza steel will make a difference at such a "low" temperature?

And one more question: why should I want to choose a higher/lower hydration of my pizza dough?

Re:Ask HN: Is There an Alternative to Facebook? on Wednesday August 19, 2020 @12:41PM (#24212457)
I quit Facebook a few years ago and never looked back.

Before leaving Facebook, FOMO was a thing for me. But after I had left for a few month, I realized that life on Facebook had hardly anything to do with offline life.

The alternative for me is to ask people for their phone number, and keep contact via WhatsApp or Telegram with them, if I feel it was worth staying in touch. Definitely harder than just "be friends" on Facebook, but way more real.

This is something this tool can be useful for: a lower bound estimate. But as side businesses bear uncertainties, a risk averse person should probably charge more than the given estimate.

Have you considered https://userbase.com/? It even allows end-to-end encryption for the data of your users!

80,000 Hours: Find a fulfilling career that does good by Benjamin Todd definitely had the biggest impact on my life (and therefore hopefully on many others as well). To know that I can save quite a few lives throughout my career gave my life a somewhat deeper sens
