Of course it's going to be a messy process when you try to finally enforce your immigration laws after years of not doing so. Enforcing laws isn't always pretty, but it's the only way to deter future behavior. The results speak for themselves. illegal immigration has dropped to historic lows. We are doing what pretty much every other nation in the world is doing when it comes to immigration enforcement, and in a lot of ways we're more lax than most. But for some reason we are singled out as uniquely cruel for doing so.
If you overstay your visa, it’s time to go, regardless of how scary you are.
And there's an entire process for arguing that you haven't violated immigration law too.
If you can't understand why laws need to be enforced, and also why it's bad for countries to lose their people to other countries, I'm not sure we have much to discuss here. I guess the US is the only country that matters to you.
You're comfort with ignoring our laws, promoting policies that drain other countries of their most ambitious and productive citizens, encourage exploitative labor practices, and make it more difficult for immigrants to enter the country via legal means, speaks volumes about you. Be better.

P.S. When has anyone ever responded to the the sanctimonious phrase "be better" by actually "being better". You don't want them to "be better", you just want to try and shame them into adopting your ideological views.

These semantic tricks are so tiresome. If you broke a law to enter the country, I'm sorry, but you're here illegally. No amount of redefining of terms is ever going to change that.
You're free to speed, but you don't get to complain when you're caught doing it and dealt consequences for doing so.
Left wing speech is hate speech. Prove me wrong.
The US has good historical reasons to ban the promotion of socialist/communist ideology, yet I don't think many people on the left would be down with that.
Calling people "bots" was also a favored tactic of the left. Seems it's still in fashion.

Software engineers have been making people jobless since the first day they started writing software, without a hint of remorse. Why is this any different?

It took a long time for the internet to result in things that improved life for in tangible ways.

Because creating a successful software product is more than just writing code.
damn, I might have to give it a shot myself

Now this I have definitely experienced. I chalk that up to it being an electron app, but who knows.

Re:GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price on Tuesday September 29, 2026 @03:40PM (#49899225)
This is basically my setup but I'm using tailscale and zellij. I don't have any contingency plan in place for my power or home internet going down though..

How complex are they? Drivers vs an entire application would be a big difference in token usage, and it could also depend on the type of work being done.

Weird, ChatGPT has always worked really well for me.
Oh, it's only the second best selling electric truck on the market. What a massive failure.
Any word on when you'll add support for antigravity? I often switch between harnesses and models and subscriptions, both for work and personal stuff, this is an awesome idea. One thing I do that I don't think you have support for is running sessions on different machines. Do you have support for, or do you plan on adding support for, syncing across machines?

Well, the kids were eating Tide Pods not too long ago, seems like Siri's not that inaccurate after all.

It's still very early days. I have no doubt that etiquette and norms will be established that alleviate these issues.
Those played a huge part as well. Well, not so much the union busting.

> My impression was that OP was using it rather fuzzily, conflating "poor" and "bad" and "unpleasant to be around" and whatever other notions of "bottom" might be floating in the air, in the service of a general air of contempt toward Those People.

That assumption says a lot more about you that it does the person you were responding to.

I wonder how much that has to do with it. Sorry you've struggled with it, though, definitely not fun.
What exactly is empty about any of what he wrote?
I wonder if doubling the workforce had anything to do with that..
Whose ethics?
Zero proof that any of that works to prevent police states from forming.
You're not going to get far talking to political fanatics. And like you said, they very likely do not have their own houses in order.
