I hate that. So Windowsy in a bad way. A Windowsy thing in a good way thing they added was window snapping and autosizing

Understandable from a developers perspective but this is what management is for. This is a great indicator that Apple's current software management is doing a bad job. Because their job is to say no and come up with the plan that will make the software quality and one time. It's really the only thing they do that matters
Re:The Myth of Snow Leopard on Friday August 07, 2026 @01:38AM (#49206257)
No one said major software updates are impossible on a yearly schedule. It's obviously possible since Apple's been doing it. What's not possible is major software updates with a normal amount of new features for a major software update at a reasonable level of quality
Re:The Myth of Snow Leopard on Thursday August 06, 2026 @07:53PM (#49204253)
It's rewriting history to say that OS X didn't have a decent release before Snow Leopard. Panther and Tiger were both excellent releases and Panther was widely considered the first truly usable OS X release. That's when it got decent.
This way of thinking is illogical. You as an individual won't have (much of) an effect, but multiple people together will. The more people who do it, the more of an effect we'll have together

That’s no problem. Just tell it to make sure the code it generates has no security vulnerabilities! That’ll take care of the issue

Multiple people have already answered your question in this thread. An LLM can’t be strategic because that’s not a capability of the technology itself
Re:Greg Knauss Is Losing Himself on Wednesday March 11, 2026 @10:37PM (#47345682)
This is fundamental to the way LLMs work. If you don’t know this, you should be reading up on that instead of asking for evidence based data on things that are fundamental to the technology we’re discussing
Re:Greg Knauss Is Losing Himself on Wednesday March 11, 2026 @10:34PM (#47345664)
You don’t understand how LLMs work. An LLM can’t understand the big picture because it doesn’t understand. Period. It works more like an autocorrect
Re:The struggle of resizing windows on macOS Tahoe on Tuesday January 13, 2026 @06:50PM (#46610244)
The mess of Tahoe didn't just happen on the watch of Tim Cook, Craig Federighi, Eddy Cue, Phil Schiller, it happened because of them.

Tim Cook has no taste and no sense of quality. He merely counts beans really well. Craig Federighi is responsible for the most precipitous drop in Apple's software quality since the late 80s and early 90s. Eddy Cue is responsible for some of Apple's worst software (music, iCloud, services), and Phil Schiller… what exactly does he do again?
