I understand your point but the Congress is not really a typical conference where ideas flow from speakers to attendees.

Instead everyone is expected to contribute ideas (and even physically as a volunteers)

The talks are actually only a part of the whole things and the main track talks (for which this CFP is for I assume) are only a part of the talks (the rest are organized by assemblies)

It's very different to usual IT conf, even compared to FOSDEM.

(Not part of the orga, this is only my understanding as an attendee)

The installer makes unexpected change that you wouldn't know how to revert (and that you would need to) unless you read at the code.

It feels like we have gone back to the Windows 95's regedit era.

I resent that these kinds of installer have become the norm.

Maybe you could shift working hours by working for a company in another tz? Obviously only if going full remote.

I agree with you remarks on asymc works. but it's going to take new ways to look at how we work

I think part of the message is missing
Re:Why use old computers and operating systems? on Saturday March 20, 2021 @03:25PM (#26525437)
Wouldn't it be possible to import the new certs? It's a debian base so I think you could just download the ca-certificates package from the debian website and dpkg -i the file.
