Even if there was a point it wouldn't matter
Re:Facebook keeps recommending political groups on Thursday June 24, 2021 @11:33AM (#27619087)
Society has benefitted a net zero from social media. Arguably a net negative.
I always wonder how much the explosion of "true crime" media has contributed to American paranoia and fear
dumb algorithm can't figure out the context of "Tank man"
That is too optimistic of an opinion for me. It has done very well so far
It gets harder every day to take seriously the people that say this is a viable currency alternative
I have no problem dismissing information from a source called "libertyunyielding" out of pocket
Re:Perfect Motherfucking Website on Thursday April 08, 2021 @12:47PM (#26740992)

Re:You can't censor away extremism or any other problem on Friday March 12, 2021 @12:21PM (#26438176)
Imagine you are at a dinner party and haven't eaten for a couple days. The guests don't realize this and are delaying dinner to chat, play games, what have you. Then finally someone says "hey morpehos137 is starving" and a large group of the guests dismiss this and say "We are all hungry" and continue to go about their business.
Isn't this just plagiarism? No one is downloading Photoshop and saying they created it (probably lol).

How did we get to the point where the government not being able to punish you for what you say is conflated with posting to a privately owned website? How? It's embarrassing
Oh heaven help us if a trillion dollar enterprise gets a fine !!!!

Re:Statement of SEC Regarding Recent Market Volatility on Friday January 29, 2021 @11:58AM (#25959466)
Yep exactly. For every one outsider that gets it right, how many are wrong? I'd wager, quite a bit
OP is saying the regulations would be at the international level. So, I am going to have to buy a UN license to use the internet? How is that enforced? If not, then it's up to individual countries to make their citizens buy a pass to get online? That doesn't seem enforceable either.
I don't think that is the case!
Re:How Silicon Valley destroyed Parler on Tuesday January 12, 2021 @11:39AM (#25749282)
Is it good that unelected people have this much power? No. Did they do the right thing here? Yes
They should be nationalized to become an even better revenue stream
Re:The universe is expanding faster than expected on Monday December 21, 2020 @05:52PM (#25500660)
It seems like in that case there isn't much to worry about then :)
Re:Facebook's Hypocrisy on Apple's New iOS 14 Privacy Feature on Friday December 18, 2020 @04:09PM (#25472052)
Agreed. I am so tired of this company acting with impunity.
A picture is worth a thousand words :)
I think that the work culture in Europe is also a factor. Europeans are much less willing to work the way a lot of the startups expect.
