We in the EU do take it more seriously, hence the switch from unreliable US based tech to local or Chinese.
≥ I think with the tools available today, everyone should just profile and optimize their app so they don't need to render it serverside.

Perhaps this is where the core problem lies. Have you considered, that this obsession to leave servers and to try to unload all the work to the clients is the wrong way (for most sites)?

1. Our pages are using a lot of server resources.

2. Let'a move some of the compute to the clients, so they can pay for it.

3. Oh, we are moving more and more JS to clients, it gets complex. Let's make big JS frameworks to help contain this complexity.

4. This is a shit-show, Frameworks cause all kinds of problems with developing, deployment, fixing, latency, instability, etc.

5. Let's optimize everything by caching on server and sending to the client ready html content! Arrived exactly where they started from.

Fyi. Ridiculously small font size makes you web site unreadable (on my phone, but I am sure this is a general problem).
It's ironic how similar of a "don't see forest from the trees" (voncentrating on the actually important stuff, Pareto) perpective problem you don't have...

What's the point of having a fast web site, if your choice of font sizes makes the content unreadable (or at least requiring effort, and straining the eye-sight and aggravating the reader)!..

Released this year. Homm3 mechanics, aesthetic close to Homm2.

LG is even worse.
Re:Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office on Sunday October 25, 2026 @09:54AM (#50231623)
Excel is a programming language, so there is not reason why the general programming issues solved by AI wouldn't also fully apply to the Excel code.
Re:Danish Government silently drops plan to dump MS Office on Sunday October 25, 2026 @09:52AM (#50231604)
Excel is amazing. It is Turing complete and you can make literal games inside it. There are Excel mastery competitions/world chanpionships and you should check it out to understand what experts at Excel are capable of and why your answer did not impress. True Excel mastery is a totally different thing than fluency in Word/Powerpoint.

Unless people do any sort of semi-serious work in Excel. Nothing compares with Excel.

- Hey, can you please answer my questions? - No, I merely work here.

Yeah, there are people who think that they are being paid to be at work, not to do work, to apply themselves, to engage, to provide and produce. And it sucks to work with those kinds of people.

They also made plugins to download websites.

Don't be silly.

I have kids and I am not really concerned.

Fyi. The following repo and it has been getting a lot of traction, PRs, commits, support. Better to use the one debloater that is popular, than the one made by only one person. https://github.com/Gathin23/cleanyourtv
You can start with this: https://plugins.omarchy.org

Then read Omarchy news.

Most people don't understand computers and do not even know what is dangerous and what is not. They won't suddenly become vibe-programmers lest "AI deletes all of the personal photos and will send them somewhere".

You should read reasoning behind the decision.

Re:Linux 7.3 Released on Monday October 19, 2026 @06:02AM (#50150456)
The docs have not been properly updated to reflect the changes. Linux developers voted to stop requiring "Assisted-by" attribution.

1. They weren't counting LOC though, but commits. It's a totally different metric.

2. This type of stat was always being shared with each new release, giving a general indication of the size of changes. They did not started posting it all of a sudden due to AI.

Macs, Unix/Linux, Beos - they do not depend on extension alone to determine the type of the file.

Windows does. The file extension determines everything (and the icons can be easily faked) and not showing it is criminal.

This is like MS brings a real pistol to a kindergarten and don't want to put it in a holster. You are the one, who tries to shift the blame and is asking why others are not holsting their weapons. They are not doing it because they don't bring weapons at all, or if they bring, they are orange toy weapons.

Suppose to be DOESN'T like...

I assume that the underlying reason is "badly organized, badly managed, making stupid decisions overall". Certainly sounds like something you should not trust as your business partner.
Re:Namecheap just seized and disabled all my domains on Sunday October 18, 2026 @07:15PM (#50146474)
Explain why this theoretical argument would be wrong.

Hetzner and other German companies are NOT known for their good service.
Re:Codex is EATING my Mac's disk space on Sunday October 18, 2026 @12:31PM (#50142568)
NT was not for home users. And it's USP was that it was way more stable. Then Win 2000 (NT variant) came and at XP they finally merged.
Re:Codex is EATING my Mac's disk space on Sunday October 18, 2026 @12:24PM (#50142491)
Using Zswap might help you.
Gamer community does like AI. Admitting it would cause an uproar among gamers, be socially risky among them. Hence gamedevs are keeping quiet about their extensive use of AI.
Re:How the Claude Code team does code review on Friday October 16, 2026 @06:58PM (#50125898)
After investments. Investments they can cut if they need to. Their daily operation is very profitable, they just decided to use that to bring cash in and go on the crazy growing trajectory, instead of taking it slow and steady. But if AI progress suddenly stops, they can just scale investments back and became profitable immediately. Calling them unprofitable is highly misleading. It's not like they are an early venture company still trying to figure out their product-market fit, with totally inflated numbers based merely on a theoretical number of potential customers (while having close to zero paying ones).

It is not relevant because we are not talking about the bad original CORE DESIGN choice (and in here I agreed with you regarding Unix), but about the willful choice to keep a terrible SETTING TOGGLE. The latter you can change, the former have to live with. Bad design in one OS should not be an excuse to keep bad settings on in another OS. One has nothing to do with another, like I said.
