Re:Firefox tab groups are here on Tuesday April 29, 2025 @02:39PM (#43836405)
Thank you for mentioning this. I felt like I was going crazy not seeing anyone mentioning it in the comments.

This was a very important feature to le at the time, as I used to work on multiple projects at the same time, and I had all of those organised in a simple, very visual way. I also had a group for "communication" with all my webmails, forums, etc. And another one with all the webcomics I used to read at the time.

On the thread list. They appear briefly on Firefox android, then disappear.
Re:Tell HN: Gmail's spam filters have gone bonkers on Tuesday January 17, 2023 @12:01PM (#34415040)
Funny that, we had the same problem with an email from the agency that our landlord use to rent the place. The email was perfectly legit, with the usual attached PDF that you'd expect in those kind of communication.

There are plenty of "Story box" that exist now. Mixed Ng the advantages of an app and the tangibility of a real object. One example I know of: https://lunii.com/en-gb/

Cocotte id a pan with a lid, usually in cast iron. The Le Creuset are most likely the more well known one. They can be small or big.

The French Wikipedia article is clearer than the English one : https://fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocotte_(cuisine)

Note that a pressure cooker is called a Cocotte minute. Because it cooks quickly.

Cocotte is also a term that can be used for chickens or chicks, but that has nothing to do with cooking utensils.

Not in the UK, where the chickenpox vaccine isn't part of the vaccines given by the NHS.
I think we can assume that pessimizer means that opening the door for the supermarket delivery doesn't count.
The writer of the piece is based in NYC, which probably explain the link to a US website.
Re:I closed a lot of browser tabs on Tuesday August 10, 2021 @05:35AM (#28126795)
This looks like a good replacement of the old tab group Firefox used to have. The fact we can assign them a container is really promising, I'll give it a go!
Re:A Flash Player emulator written in Rust on Friday February 05, 2021 @07:03AM (#26035406)
There has been so many cartoons made in flash, with great artistic result.

Well, turns out there's a wikipedia page on that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Flash_animated_televis... Even Family Guy started with Flash!

Thanks for the follow up. I'll try those and see if I can get some performance improvement.

I'm currently building a Spotify Connect box based on Raspberry Pi 0W.

Do you have any information on what you could strip down from the basic Raspbian to get the best performance / power consumption?

This is a symptom of being in a pandemic, where in many places you are forbidden or heavily discouraged to socialize.

I've been working from home since March. This is not what normal working from home looks like, this is what working from home _during a pandemic_ looks like.

> It is very strange to see people turning this into a 'product cancellation' - Hangouts was deprecated _4 years ago_

So, let me get this straight. 6 years ago, Google made the Google Voice user move to hangout, and 2 years later it was deprecated?

It just seems worse.

AdChoices > Decline all.

Works perfectly here?

Yes, it can do that now.

I feel infrastructure in France, at least for the consumer, is pretty good.

I had proper 100Mbits/s fiber in Paris 10 years ago and I still can't get that in my part of London.

Re:Using 'this' incorrectly in C# on Friday August 14, 2020 @04:01PM (#24162571)
Yeah but to quote stackoverflow:

> Use $this to refer to the current object. Use self to refer to the current class. In other words, use $this->member for non-static members, use self::$member for static members.

This is a different way of doing things, yes, but it makes sense.

Reading the article, it sounds that it is pay on delivery, not on order.

> “I have always refused the deliveries, so I have never paid for anything,” he said, adding that the harassment is not only annoying for him, but also for restaurants.

> “It costs them money and they have to throw the food away. On the day that ten deliveries showed up, I did the math: it cost €450,” Van Landeghem said.

Part of it is. It's not free software, but part of the source code cab be accessed by the game devs.

But this assertion is just not true. Simple actions can be very rewarding and give a lot of satisfaction. And that's exactly what you can get in Animal Crossing.

I'm using Ublock Origin with no extras enabled and I had the popup.

Since I'm using firefox, I just forced the Reader view by typing this in my address bar:

Re:Create a First-Person Shooter In Godot on Thursday February 20, 2020 @04:07AM (#22373754)
Yes, using the UI is very important.

In Unity, having a good UI in your inspector will let you, the programmer, empower the other team member to use what you've created. Designer, artists, etc. will be able to tune, tweak and modify a lot of things without dealing with the code, or having you deal with the code.
