AI solve my problem where I have to hand code all the time. I'm happier than ever. Math's analogy is they now get to find problems instead of solving them, then get LLM's to solve them or solve them together. I've been saying this, numbers go up, and LLM makes the amount of problems to solve go up, not less.
What was his movie review when he saw Ocean's 11? This won't happen in real life? It's entertainment, get over it.
Re:macOS 15.8.2 Breaks OpenGL on Sunday October 18, 2026 @01:43PM (#50143380)
I'm on macos 27. why are they still using 15?
Re:DeepSeek: DeepSeek v4.1 Flash 1017 on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:28PM (#50136927)
why does mac studio enter the equation, it'd one shot it on mac neo
Re:DeepSeek-v4.1-Flash-1017 on Saturday October 17, 2026 @09:27PM (#50136920)
Most corporate will not be using deepseek, haven't heard of it.
Re:Neural Networks Are Already Clean on Friday October 16, 2026 @09:49AM (#50118367)
I'm afraid in it's current form they can declare some victory, but may not guarantee it the next month's iteration.
Re:Neural Networks Are Already Clean on Friday October 16, 2026 @09:47AM (#50118356)
Bluesky from John Gruber, say is nothing like X, and i don't doubt it one bit. You are def shilling it.
Re:Using AI to reverse engineer hardware on Friday October 16, 2026 @09:35AM (#50118224)
people keep talking about AI killing this or that, but I feel they will create new industries. 50 years ago new tech can shift industries over decade or so, but AI will shift it in 1/5 or in a year, 2 even 1/10 of the time.
Re:Using AI to reverse engineer hardware on Friday October 16, 2026 @09:33AM (#50118196)
They'll just "distil" your hardware from input/outputs.

Good for consumers, they were selling that Centaur Klon for 3gs. 3gs for a peddle, what sort of monopoly is that? I'm looking forward to clones. Do i feel bad for them? Yes, initially. But coming from the software side, after the initial shock, i see so much potential now.
Re:Do dentists know what they're doing? on Wednesday October 14, 2026 @02:45PM (#50092878)
Yep, if they see a cavity, they have an option to drill it or leave it and see if it won't progress based on good oral hygiene. The money hungry ones will drill even at the slightest dent that may form a deep cavity. They get paid per drill. Go figure.
Re:New Apple TV 4K on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @11:42AM (#50073495)
Not much of an upgrade after so many years
Re:Apple HomeView on Tuesday October 13, 2026 @11:37AM (#50073412)
For those worred about no apps, they 99.99% likely will have apps(I don't work there but I work enough in the ecosystem), but must be specifically designed to fit that form factor like Apple TV/Vision pro/Apple Watch, with their own shared and exclusive API. Tightly controlled UI/privacy/UX. I'd imagine there is a quick path from going from AppleWatch to this.

Is iffy if they will allow a run it like on iPad but you see iphone form factor on it. The UX likely suck bad if they go ahead and takes away from the form factor. Plus companies like FB may just leave it at that like how they did with instagram for ipad for a decade.

How are they pricing both versions the same while charging extra 80$ for the mount for the wall mounted version? I thought it was a pricing error and some needs their head checked either way
Re:Thinking will become a hobby on Monday October 12, 2026 @02:59PM (#50061138)
When thinking becomes a hobby/unimportant, all rules of society will be way different than what we have right now which is mainly making money to survive/get more luxury.
Re:AI-ready biological data: $1.8B global commitment on Thursday October 08, 2026 @09:39PM (#50014942)
put that RSI to use here and let it rip
i thought 6.1sol copied the caching architecture so this isn't such a big deal no more
Re:The Mathocalypse on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @05:39PM (#49999144)
really? you think they don't have friends/bros/tv/etc to imitate?
Re:The Mathocalypse on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @05:37PM (#49999125)
I'm not getting all the fear. AI seem to have brought math field to the cutting edge instead of solving decades old problems. AI can find new problems that needs to be solved, that themselves cannot solve. So thats where mathematicians can come back in to leverage tools to go at it.
Re:The Mathocalypse on Wednesday October 07, 2026 @05:33PM (#49999093)
why not get Astra to make it make sense?
if you read it fast, it almost made my heart beat real fast
what if it's just testing the AI to see how it responds
Re:I Quit OpenAI Because Its Culture Is Broken on Sunday October 04, 2026 @01:55PM (#49956196)
He quit because OpenAi's culture didn't match his good version.
We are living in the same world with nukes, where you say as long as we have competent government. Everyone is actually doomed without AI solving diseases or old age.
Every doomer waves their hand when they say AGI will kill everyone. Either [some how] they get the nuclear codes and launch them. Or they enslave us like in, que the top 5 hollywood AI movie (Matrix, Terminator, Hal9000).
Re:DeepSeek Harness Desktop for macOS and Windows on Friday October 02, 2026 @10:20AM (#49933843)
How do i make sure it won't hack my machine? It's open source and i can compile it on my own, but if it has a dependency, it's all it takes.
Re:Don't be fooled–LLMs don't reason on Friday October 02, 2026 @10:16AM (#49933798)
99% of the people treat it as a black box. It gives better answers, you can reverse reason and IDGAF
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Thursday October 01, 2026 @02:53PM (#49925608)
I'm still amazed that they still have coding interviews that tests you on syntax. when agentic/ai assisted engineering practices is way more important. What they should test you on is the top layer like architecture, concurrency concepts, UI optimization concept of a particular language API, how to debug, how to test, more of a how to read code instead of writing. They need to test you on speed at which you would detect bad code, over engineered code, bad architected code and how to remedy it.
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Thursday October 01, 2026 @02:51PM (#49925573)
LLM should soon be language indifferent/independent, the upcoming years Devs will touch less and less code and more of a LLM as the top interface and debugging tools as the next layer. I just can't see anyone writing an ounce of code in 1-2 years.
Re:Gemini 4 Argon on Thursday October 01, 2026 @02:47PM (#49925528)
you do need a precise prompt to do what it's asked and there are 50-100 things that needs to work to meet the criteria. Little things need to work, and work well
