Pregnant women are not supposed to drink.

Many religions discourage or disallow drinking.

I believe a recovered/recovering alcoholic could be considered a protected class.

Many medical conditions or medications cannot be combined with alcohol.

AI training and algorithms are trained and guided to certain kinds of results. Grok, for example, is claimed to be modified constantly according to Elon Musk's whims.

If you theoretically trained an AI on libel and had it set to libel anyone at the slightest prompt, then allowed users to make a request that had your AI on your server use your services to libel someone, I'm not really seeing how you would not be liable.

As a fellow below average programmer I have used them for that, but it feels like a fairly minor improvement over searching stack overflow, but that is definitely an area where it is a time saver, thanks for the example.

What tasks is it better at doing than other technologies we have available to us? I'm not being sarcastic, I generally want to know in which areas you think it is better.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head that isn't just doing the things that make it a generative AI. (It's better at generating an image that I describe to it, etc, but that's not something that another technology does.)

Re:Maybe the problem is that Harvard exists on Thursday August 10, 2023 @12:50PM (#37078557)
Agreed, but the current class of rich people exist only within the context of those terrible racist things happening. Generational wealth was impossible to achieve for entire races of people, redlining isn't even that old. It's related.

It just generates nonsense. I said I had ants, celery and chocolate. It assumed I had chocolate bread (???) and tells me to grill the celery and bread

I wasn't aware there was an objective 1-to-1 correlation between the complexity of music to its quality.
The problem is the recent slate of "don't say gay" bills and abortion bans are state-wide affairs
please don't post obvious bait on HN.

The recent wave of legislation being passed is obviously nothing related to crime.

Because there are vindictive people who try to tank their own income because they hate their ex. I had a boss who tanked his prior company to do this.

Which state do you live in that penalizes you? Federally, you'd have to have a combined income of almost $700k for filing jointly to be a penalty and even then you don't have to file jointly.
What gynocentric laws are you referring to?
what do you mean by "dubious trend from certain elite circles"?
A combined $400k is not remotely normal income.

Do you truly believe that? It's a privately owned place to post thoughts, you were not being restricted if no newspaper would print your letter to the editor.
So you require 90 minutes of interviewing followed by a 4+ hour long unpaid homework assignment complete with a presumable additional hour of presenting the homework assignment to a team without them knowing what the pay could be.

I think you'd have to not have many other opportunities to be worth putting up with that much for the potential for a job. Imagine if they interviewed at even one other place that required this much from them, they wouldn't have the time.

Re:Contra Wirecutter on the IKEA air purifier on Monday June 20, 2022 @02:18PM (#31813693)
Is it really inconceivable that someone might want to pay a modest sum of money to avoid having to build and maintain a custom-made version that is uglier?
Re:LG is getting out of the mobile phone business on Monday April 05, 2021 @04:45PM (#26704456)
Yeah, I unfortunately finally gave up the headphone jack. My phone broke and I couldn't find a good phone that had wireless charging, a headphone jack and a micro SD card slot. I went with the S20 FE since it had 2 of them. The budget galaxys seem have headphone and mcicro sd but not wireless charging. I almost bought an old S10 since that's the last galaxy with all three, but figured since it'd be losing update support soon I had better pick which feature to lose.

I'm kind of regretting it already. I don't have portable bluetooth headphones right now, had to order some and I kept wanting headphones over the weekend since they haven't arrived yet.

I was kind of leaning towards and LG, but everyone online was saying this was going to happen soon.

He has also reduced legal immigration options. Refugee caps much lower and the White House wants to get rid of the visa lottery. https://www.cotton.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=603

They worked Cotton on this bill which would reduce legal immigration.

The goal is to make you signup, not dismiss it. It was implemented as desired.
Re:$15 minimum wage didn’t hurt NYC restaurants on Tuesday October 29, 2019 @09:30AM (#21386866)
That's not remotely true. If the fast food sector was "meant for teenagers" they wouldn't open until like 4 pm when school was out.

Re:Best Smartphones That Still Have a Headphone Jack on Tuesday September 17, 2019 @02:58PM (#20998860)
I have multiple pairs of headphones, I have some over the ear ones at work, I have a couple buds that don't cut out as much outside noise in my car for when I'm shopping, I have some in ears at home I use when mowing my lawn. I plug my phone into some speakers at home sometimes. I don't want to have to keep track of a dongle for each of these.

You can be fired for missing too many days of work for a legitimate illness.
I can see your comments, I don't think you're shadowbanned.
Q says that hillary clinton has secretly been arrested and is under house arrest. That the military chose trump to be president because that's the one part of the government that wasn't part of the evil plotting and that trump pretended to collude with russia so he could work with Mueller to take down the deep state.

You really have to ignore the vast majority of the conspiracy theory and focus on the vaguer statements and things he says about stuff already in the news to take it remotely seriously.

He must have edited out the part of his post where he advocated for taking rights away from those who believe in obvious bs. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Re:The Making of a YouTube Radical on Sunday June 09, 2019 @08:04AM (#20138676)
Correct, believing some races are inherently superior does get you labeled a white supremacist because there's functionally not much of a difference between the two.
Re:The Making of a YouTube Radical on Sunday June 09, 2019 @08:03AM (#20138669)
Barely a difference . Race realism is the same thing, sugar-coated to avoid openly admitting your racism and belief that some races are inherently superior .
