In EXIF, you have DateTimeDigitized [0]

For ambiguous dates there is the EDTF Spec[1] which would be nice to see more widely adopted.

A german kids show investigated this and made a video about it[1]. Here you can see the 4th option of what can happen.

The most environmentally friendly is to not eat meat.

Super interesting project. I also started once a project to index food and their ingredients via gpt. The inaccuracy let me abandon the project. But never tried the new gpts for that.

One great resource is also: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/

About not being worried, that someone could read your mail in the case you're dead:

Always bear in mind you're not writing mails to yourself. The other party writing mails with you, might not be that happy with third parties reading their mails. Privacy is not only about you

I'm amused, that sometimes when you begin starting to learn something, you see resources for learning everywhere. (And I just learned it's called Fequency Illusion or baader-meinhof-phenomenon [0])

Thank you so much for publishing this book for free, I'm eager to dive in! Is there any chance you can also link it as ePub?

The Superconductor would also store the Energy. It could instantly release and take in energy. So this would also be the battery

There's also a very nice simulation, where you can play with the very different parts of vocal chords:

Can you elaborate on what you mean by that "the people they look down upon are more kurds than turks"?

At times, it's rather perplexing why certain individuals critique posts as if they shouldn't exist at all. It's akin to telling a dedicated chef to give up cooking because their unique style doesn't match your preferred taste. I found this article to be quite a pleasant read. It echoed emotions that felt familiar, almost like finding a new dish that tickles your taste buds just right. It sprinkled a little bit of unexpected joy onto my day.

I can't see your point towards the washed out colors. Did you really compare the two Examples? I did compare both color schemes (the dark blue ones), and they seem very close together with a bit (nearly unnoticeable) more contrast for the OKSolar Color Scheme. Here is it side by side (the bottom one is oksolar):

That's the beautiful thing of open source. It's a community effort: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/pitivi-web/-/blob/ma...
Funny side effect of this post: For me the first link in the kagi results is now the link to kagi itself with the same search term.

Wow, this is such a nice application. In combination with this [1]. Could be a delightful Project to start with.

Re:Against 3x Speed on Monday December 20, 2021 @12:34AM (#29621856)
I think it's not really about the speed of the information, as long as you are able to process it, but the sheer amount of information. If you use time savings of 50 minutes to just consume more information, not much will settle in your long term memory. But if you process and repeat the information in those "saved" minutes, you'll get away with much more in the end. I think this is more the point of the author's view.

I'm using FF on Android as well. It seems ok to me. Except for the contact button and the very big menu.
Re:Extreme Ironing on Tuesday August 31, 2021 @08:55AM (#28367423)
From the German Wiki (roughly translated):

> Commercially available irons are used for ironing. In places where no electrical power supply is available or cannot be used due to humidity, the heating plate is heated by auxiliary constructions (mostly gas cookers). For the World Cup, for example, a process was developed in which the iron is heated inside by an exothermic reaction, generated by mixing a hygroscopic chemical pressed into granules with water.

no, same for me
Re:GeoGuessing with Deep Learning on Thursday March 25, 2021 @03:09AM (#26577253)
What would be the advantage to train a model on the whole dataset, you would be running it against later? Wouldn't that overfit the network?

And for the cheating part; geoGuessr actually exposes the right answer in their API. You you could just use that to pinpoint the exact location automated.
