Automated deletion of an account by waiting a year does not comply with the GDPR and your right to correct or remove your data. Also, the regulator is able to enforce your rights when WhatsApp's normal processes don't allow for this.

I just checked and there's 4 levels of data speed (including USB 4 Gen 4) and 3 levels of power (up to 240 W) but I wouldn't be surprised if that is an outdated answer.

Garmin Pay? My Vivoactive lasts about 7-8 days with sleep tracking and phone notifications. 20 days if you disable phone connectivity.

Err, phones removed the headphone port, largely to sell more accessories.

As I understand it the codec used in Bluetooth headsets is from 2003 and doesn't use the bit rate effectively compared to a newer codec. Sometimes a device will support a newer codec especially with the aptX branding, and even rarer will both devices support it!
I think I've heard about this before, apparently Apple encourages its employees to use the same iCloud account for personal and business use.

Monzo I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up
Yes, involving the Public Suffix List. It's quite ridiculous you need to register your domain on a list of you want to offer subdomains.
This is about tracking not actual functionality .

Most probable usually means for a specific prompt. How can this operate without the the original prompt?

I think there's an argument for throwing AttributeError instead of silently going to N+1 behaviour.
It's cute but after a paragraph or two I immediately thought, let me choose what Burroughs I care about and get a result. However, the link to do this was way, way down the page.
Has anybody reported a refusal and managing to complete their task? I just see 0% whatever I input.
Re:Why Software Factories Fail on Thursday July 23, 2026 @04:11PM (#49027364)
No, commits always display the files in a fixed order, and then display changes from line 1 to line N. An AI could select the order to display in, add per hunk commentary and automatically adjust how much context lines are displayed.
Re:Show HN: IKEA Complexity Index on Saturday July 18, 2026 @10:17AM (#48958385)
A lot of these pdfs contain steps which are optional or only apply in certain situations. Does that decrease the complexity because there are less steps to do? Or does it increase.. the cyclomatic complexity!
It is lean-verified, so it can be trusted unless the Lean statement of the hypothesis is not an accurate description of the hypothesis.
Re:Microsoft Patches a Record 570 Security Flaws on Wednesday July 15, 2026 @07:28AM (#48919206)
That's likely because of antitrust. If they let their software hook into Windows Update, then they would need to let everybody do the same.
Re:The Competitive Moat That AI Can't Replicate on Wednesday June 17, 2026 @05:50PM (#48577397)
It is the em dashes and the excessive wordiness as well as a lot of "not this, but that".

Eg:

"Not dramatically. Just quietly. " -- This is filler words. Whether it's dramatic or quiet has no relevance to the point they're making.

It also loves threes: "Well-modelled, properly sourced, beautifully visualised to requirements" - again, all irrelevant. The point they're making is that it's measuring the wrong thing, not that "beautifully visual things can be incorrect".

"There’s a piece of this conversation that most leaders miss, and it’s the part I care about most" - this hook of "most people miss" it is very common in AI writing.

It really isn't. There is no official "Chinese Export" mark. And it's legal to use the real CE mark just to indicate that you (the manufacturer) believe the product complies with European regulations. Some manufacturers might not know or care what it means and just put it on anyway. And some manufacturers might put a version with the incorrect dimensions on their product. It still doesn't mean "Chinese Export".
At least they get recalled. I don't think any Temu products are getting recalled.
Re:A History of IDEs at Google on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @03:27PM (#48126300)
I can understand Android (including the Linux kernel) being "too big" and "too separate" to go into Google3, but why Chromium? When it was forked from KHTML/WebKit it was probably not that big compared to the rest of Google's codebase.

Spotify was another big proponent of DynamoDB, does anybody know how that went?

You only need a couple of Active Directory and Exchange servers here and there. But who's using IIS or SQL Server these days? Sharepoint also seems to be on a downturn.

What is writing if not a way to be perceived by others. Ideally not perceived as an LLM!

I saw it too and OP has likely picked up these idioms from the sheer amount of AI-assisted or generated writing out there.

How big an issue was that really? Pick it up and put it back together and it turns on again.
