I am a bit of an oldie too (44) and my background is in C#

I am thinking of making a CLI scoundrel card game.

I bought Alex's "Let's Go Further" book a while back, I really should spend some time with it.

I want to learn Go.

I played around with Hermes and qwen recently and it’s really good fun.

Have telegram set up and plotting to take over the world

Really good
Rubicon I always add Rubicon to these types of lists. Amazing spy series.

I backed this on Kickstarter and have been following for a while. I am after a gadget to tinker with but still on the fence a little bit. It's about 300€ all in so I will see.

It's a push to using their cloud services I suppose. I have had to pay for the icloud for a while now because my phone would fill up so quickly.

I am eyeing a few tutorials on building my own cloud.

When conspiracies were a bit more fun.

Anyone else collect The X-Factor partworks magazine? I used to love reading it.

If the LLM is running under a role, which it should be, then RBAC can help.
Re:Claude Cowork Exfiltrates Files on Wednesday January 14, 2026 @06:54PM (#46625814)
Yea agreed. Or use RBAC
Re:Claude Cowork Exfiltrates Files on Wednesday January 14, 2026 @05:43PM (#46624949)
That’s amazing.

If you cannot control what’s being input, then you need to check what the LLM is returning.

Either that or put it in a sandbox

Re:Claude Cowork Exfiltrates Files on Wednesday January 14, 2026 @04:52PM (#46624165)
Sanitise input and LLM output.
Re:Why is SendGrid emailing me about supporting ICE? on Friday January 09, 2026 @01:07PM (#46556931)
That’s some devious shit. I can just imagine someone furiously clicking the button in a rage
Re:Parental Controls Aren't for Parents on Friday January 02, 2026 @10:01AM (#46465396)
The Roblox ones are a bit of a minefield too.

I age restrict, block chat with everyone and monitor friend requests weekly. They are not allowed to play in their rooms.

Education is the biggest thing. They come to me if someone asks to be their friend. They don’t accept gifts from strangers and I explain that it’s the same as real world.

It’s a constant process that is always changing. Same as any other parenting job I suppose

All these come from the white house press directly which has painted them in a glowing light but it remains to be seen if they are actually good things. The administration is crooked. Nothing they do can be trusted. Especially when they attack science and reduce funding for critical programs
One of my favourite movies. Everyone in it is so good.
I will be streaming a certain watering hole in Namibia.

I hope this doesn't mean I start looking to buy another bag or edc stuff.

Is that what Maximus tried to carve off in Gladiator?
Ahhh you stole my idea lol

I was gonna do this as a way for people to stop buying things they don’t need. They get the “buzz” of going through the process of buying something (checkout, credit card form etc) they get a confirmation email and everything.

Looks great! Congratulations

Yea that is very annoying. It's copying the Diary of a CEO format, sensationalizing the topic.
Same as me. I think about it every day now. I’m 44 and It explains a lot of my behaviours.

I found the adhd chatter podcast very helpful

Re:Blurry rendering of games on Mac on Friday August 15, 2025 @06:13AM (#44910525)
Part of my decided to get the M3 MacBook Pro because I wouldn't be able to game on it so much - I needed something reliable for a Cybersecurity Masters and I knew if I got a powerful windows laptop I would be tempted to play games .

My is a lovely machine for the most part but overheats a lot when gaming, so much so that it worries me. So I don't bother.

Dodgy IoT devices will be the end of us all.
Re:A receipt printer cured my procrastination on Thursday June 12, 2025 @09:46AM (#44257767)
Great read. I'm sure I have some undiagnosed ADHD and I suffer from getting stuck into to work or executive dysfunction...the tactile effect of pulling the receipt paper down and chucking it in the bin must feel very satisfying.

Kinda like those chefs working the plating section. Order up!

pAIr coding? pAIr programming?
Re:I so hate the phrase "vibe coding" on Tuesday May 06, 2025 @09:29AM (#43904905)
I don't mind "vibe coding" once there is no "vibe push-to-production".

I understand it as playing around, POC, MVP stuff. Which lots of people were doing before AI came around.

If people are "vibe coding" for mission critical applications then that is a problem.

Re:Sneakers (1992) – 4K Restoration on Tuesday May 06, 2025 @05:23AM (#43903136)
I love this movie so much. I know there are parts that don't make sense but everyone in it is excellent and it's very quotable.

"Practice, Practice, Practice" "You...won't know...who to trust" "No more secrets"

The soundtrack is great too.

I wonder will the SEPA instant work like this.
