are any of these artifacts public and available for inspection/use?
Literally, no. Introspection is an internal self-driven process. And typically both the creating and criticisms draw from the general distribution of information, there’s still “nothing” to do the introspecting.
idk about that. The big labs and their data providers are spending millions of dollars building up expert datasets. I was offered $120/hr to critique outputs and provide my own designs. Thats clean and high quality data, not the average internet word distribution
White noise is better than the repetitive and generic synthetic music I got
faisca.dev is also vibed - perhaps it's a real human using AI to build an online fascade
Spam website owners pay for these bots, they get compensated for the conversions. In an ideal world, google’s ad prices and fraud detection would render this ineffective.
The actual rates charged to merchants are variable, and typically higher for rewards/cashback cards. Basically, other people are subsidizing cards with higher benefits/cash back (of course as people shift, the merchant raises prices to compensate for the higher average fee, or just charge an additional Z% higher than your cash back)
Yey yet another vibe coded viz. these are the “hello world” of LLM projects.
nifty. what about this makes it HN worth? What cool problems did you (not the robot) solve? What did you do beyond prompting it, is there anything for others to learn from? Was the data difficult to acquire, clean up, or is this just an obvious viz on a public dataset anyone could get? Did you glean insights from having this viz, does the graphic serve a narrative or distilling information not otherwise apparent, or is it just pretty?
I ask these genuinely. It’s the difference between “oh I figured out how to print ‘hello world’” vs “I built something”
why?? It's extremely common for nonprofits to have anonymous matching donors. Even my local animal shelter.
I have a feeling search traffic is down and lots of people are diverting to using AI, or to one of the sloppy competitors. Conveying bank statements doesn’t seem like there’s much of a moat around the workflow.
Their primary information channels have been captured and corrupted. They are isolated and misled. This is the penultimate form of domestic fascist propaganda.
Your reductive statement just fodders further divisiveness and apathy.
We've dealt with propaganda and political change in the past. What worked has always been outreach and engagement, slow deprogramming, in person.
I really struggle to get past AI writing. Aside from feeling disrespected, something about that style is just so tiring to read… the marketing style of setup and reveal, repetition, only works in small doses
> I think it funny how much average engineers are beginning to discover the challenges of engineering leadership and program management. This has always been the bottleneck.
It is somewhat new for most ICs to need this skillset, as opposed to tech leads/staff folks. What books would you suggest for this new reality?
> This is funny to read because I remember hearing someone complain about the exact same thing in the Bay Area, but their dates were shifted by about 10 years before yours.
Another perspective is just that SF's culture has been declining for decades. As someone born in SF, I'd agree.
I'd guess it depends on the type of business. If it's some genuinely deep technical space, the model would give an edge but even then I think luck would be a significant factor. In a monte carlo of such scenarios, the business with the stronger model might win 6 out of 10 times, but it's no sure thing between the two of us. If we were comparing two businesses building Yet Another Generic CRUD, I would guess it's closer... perhaps even a net-negative to spend money on Fable versus marketing.
What are your thoughts on Hubble?
this is just crowd sourced data? Looks vibe coded. And immediately asking for donations for a short Claude job, pretty sus?
it's part of a webring of vibecoded slopsites
the post seems to be link farming for the poster's startup that hosts the site
AI-written blog post, basically link farming for the associated "Auditable workspaces for AI coding agent" product (that owns the git repo).
I care because: It's not clear what a human learned or found valuable? If a human learned anything at all
Can you elaborate on the project? Because I just see a vibe coded project with failing builds and no associated interesting development story or example applications.
I’m also curious how OP came about this? No comments on the post, two comments on HN, most history are submissions that are almost all [dead]
The Google matches for this name are inconsistent and suspicious. Did the LLM just pick a random name?
It seems like AI is really hurting the people who
don't have a hoard of experience - the juniors and early mid-level tech people.
The incumbents with experience are doing amazing. PM's with Mythos aren't replacing the PE with 20 years of experiences lol.
> Plain headless Chromium is easy to detect by websites with anti-bot measures. Plain headless Chromium avoided getting blocked by websites only 2% of the time, according to our stealth benchmark.
> Our browsers avoid blocks 81% of the time on our stealth benchmark, and 84.8% on Halluminate BrowserBench, the highest of any provider.
Seems very unethical, no? Who uses service providers like this? The whole point of anti-bot measures is to get rid of bots - you are not wanted there.
These kinds of services inevitably make the web more human-hostile and expensive. Websites will continue pushing back on automated usage, meaning more hurdles to access content.
No doubt part of why we see this push for verified ID on the web - not just age gating and "protect the children", but also protect sites from bots, and protect ad revenue (not a statement of support; just seems like an obvious higher order effect)
How does this
> If this source [0] is true then 65% of audiobooks (in 2022) were non-fiction. Likewise that the audiobook industry has grown by nearly 3x since a2022.
Lead to
> by my math, it's simply that people prefer to listen to self-help books (which matches my own experience).
I'm not sure I see the math there, when most nonfiction is not self-help books (and an increase in the broader genre says nothing about a specific niche)
I can’t even figure out what to pick from the myriad of streaming services I have. How would I prompt an AI for dopamine fix?
> Why would I pay for services that will be enshiftified when I can build an app that does exactly what I want in an afternoon.
When we talk about “the market”, the customer base, remember it’s a market that typically doesn’t know how to or care to even install an adblocker.
Right after WW2, trust was way higher. There was a belief in common good and progress and all that.
