rule of thumb is 3x your salary is your cost to employer

so do opsec like tony in the sopranos and leave all you mobiles out side the room
Not fucking up and have you president do your version of Suez id rather USA have a role on the world stage than welcome our new Mandarin or Russian speaking overlords
This is just the way Judges do sarcasm
CGT is very high in the USA compared to the UK and the rest of the EU - which discourages investment as opposed to buying safe T Bills or Guilts
Depends if its treated as coinage or as a good - I don't pay CGT if I buy gold coins and sell it for a gain when it goes up in the UK for example
so you think going back to pre 1900 isolationism will work let alone the moral issue of abandoning the USA's role in the world is a good idea.

I suppose Liz II could take you back and put Prince Hal in charge :-)

True My Uncle had met him when the concordias captain went to Warsash (one of the Uk's training colleges) and wasn't impressed.

I think his point was they always crucify the captain even if its not their direct fault

Many FTSE 100 companies in the UK do have share save schemes available to all employees

Guilds are far more restrictive than unions an din the US "Guilds" have an unfortunate history in labour relations ie excluding minorities in favour of whites

Interesting in the UK companies cannot use shares with different rights in employee share schemes
Its I believe highly illegal when I worked for BT in the UK misuse of NI numbers was a very serious gross misconduct offence - we go read the riot act over this it was almost as bad as corruptly looking up data on individuals info - say the queens private number ;-)
Blaming the dead pilots is easy as my Uncle (ex Merchant Marine) said about the Concordia sinking - they always crucify the captain.
Which is what My Boss at BT said as he had worked in the Valley and in the UK he got no more work out his SV teams than he did in the UK -and in the UK this was an ex civil service unionized with 5 weeks Al plus privilege days
technically in the UK a Salaried position doesn't have fixed hours of work - this is a major social status indicator
well it makes sense for the rare occasion you need extra resource to pay OT it also helps to make sure mangers properly schedule work if the costs are high working on say thanksgiving at dark o clock
Employee salary is not a market in the same way shares are employers keep secret what they pay from potential employees.
Union's have regular democratic elections for positions CEO's don't face a mandatory share holder vote every year or two do they
Nope they can argue for a greater share of the profits of the company or better pension rights. Back when I was a union branch secretary I helped get several thousand people get a better deal from the BT pension scheme.
But the members vote for the elected positions of the union and on the motions at conference :-)

Exactly I created a page for the second largest festival in the UK in terms of people attending and some German student marked it as not important enough!

To put this into context it would be like a non American saying the next biggest festival to Mardi Gras isn't noteworthy.

Re:Ask HN: How to deal with inexperienced interviewers? on Monday November 20, 2017 @08:36AM (#15739764)
No Gross incompetence and interviewer wearing such a soiled and scruffy t-shirt I would not use to do the gardening.

Sounds like you are not offering enough or have a poor recruitment consultant

If I was really pissed of id have written to the CEO and HR director pointing out that there procedures needed "some improvement"

I almost did this after a disastrous interview at AKQA a while back.

I've never seen that care to share an example - but non native speakers can often make accidently offensive mistakes using the informal Du verses Sie.

I also saw a Swedish guy suggest (on a Stack Overflow Site) that some one with the first name Mohammed change this to his "White" name of Martin - they seemed totally oblivious of what they just sugested
