Questionable comment if you can't get the basic premise of the article correct.
Why is this story being buried? It's clearly of high interest to the HN audience.
It's going to be interesting to see what happens when someone quickly figures out how to block the ads - other than at the network level. Seems like it will be very hard to enforce their TOS.

I can imagine a market for businesses with waiting rooms like doctors and dentists that could be quite valuable for targeted advertising. I wouldn't be surprised to see one on the wall of a local takeaway, garage or hair dresser perhaps if they come to this country.

Appears to be an attempt to rebrand a cheap phone and sell it for $200? Looks to be a YINGTAI T22 available for $50 on AliExpress. Glorified drop shipping store.

HN: The internet has changed, it's lost all personality.

ALSO HN: WHY IS THIS NOT EDITORIALISED. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU.

Re:Ask HN: Do you think Dropbox is expensive? on Saturday February 15, 2020 @11:09PM (#22339734)
Left Dropbox this week after many years. I've got storage with iCloud and Google Drive now, which are cheaper combined and provide a lot of other services.

It felt like price increases were to pay for new features like Paper, which is not what I ever wanted from their service. I'll keep an account on the free plan, since many services have Dropbox integrations.

This is a really great idea, I just feel the value proposition at $6/m or even the $3/m isn't justified to me.

That's putting you above my iCloud sub and barely below my Google sub, only a little below what I'm paying for Netflix.

I guess I'm just tiring from subscription fatigue.

Edit: Just want to add, unfortunately the few minutes of time I currently spend curating my email is worth far less than the cost. While it might appeal to a niche subset of SV users I just can't see the value proposition for anyone else.. I guess it's a question of your cost of service vs potential addressable market.

Popular YouTubers will easily be able to afford a trip or two to space in their lifetime, so it kind of makes sense?
I visited Boracay around 2012, expecting a beautiful island we were shocked by the state we found it in - barely left the hotel all week.

I thought so too - though I note that the request included 'HTTP/1.1', which I presume means this is solely non-encrypted traffic? Can anyone clarify?
