If someone facilitated a transaction of goods that were illegal between two people and received a cut of the sale, do you think they deserve some culpability?
I've been using Ubuntu as my desktop for a few years already. Overall I don't have too many issues, but do you have any recommendations for an alternative?
Uber was initially built in Python, then migrated to Node and now Go
In reference to what Arnold is talk aobut, he's more so referring to the people that shaped him into the person he is today, from his parents to everyone that he has met along the way. So in regards to Picasso, it wouldn't be the paint supplies, but everyone that supported/encouraged/discouraged/nay saysers, that guided him along the way to his success.
I picked up my first MPC (the 2000) around 1999. Since then I've had the 2000XL twice, an MPC60 and I current have the MPC2500. I'm one of those guys that always had it on full velocity. Whenever I wanted a kick or different sound at a different velocity, I would just assign it to a different pad and add adjust the volume and maybe add some additional filtering to it.

For me, I found the 2000XL gave me the best workflow. It took a while to adjust to the 2500's way of doing things. Everything is hidden behind a menu, but it's easier to move stuff to and from the computer.

Because he's our generation's P.T. Barnum
But now that he's in his 50s, he knows better.

If you have a better solution, I'm sure it would be very lucrative.

Spammers typically implement bots to carry out tasks. I mean, technically at some point a spammer is a real person, but when you're automating tasks and using bots, it's not at the same scale.

> a retailer benefit from this strategy? How does it protect their bottom line?

A couple of examples I can think of is blocking bots from scraping their site for pricing and details and from resellers from buying up all of the stock (see sneakers, electronics, etc). The last example doesn't directly impact their bottom line, but it will make customers go elsewhere.

What's the different between freedom of speech with consequences and not having freedom of speech?
Re:Is old music killing new music? on Wednesday January 19, 2022 @03:28PM (#29999533)
I think this is due to the relationship with music changing. I'm in my early 40s now, but when I was in my teen/early 20s, I would buy a 1 or 2 CDs a month and I would listen to those CDs over and over again. I would study the linear notes and the cover.

Music is too disposable now. With my spotify subscription, I can still listen to those albums from the 90s/early 2000s over and over again, but there's just so much new music. Even new albums that I really enjoy, I'll listen to them a handful of times and forget about them.

You would think so, but here we are and a segment of the population still doesn't have the vaccine.

Are you suggesting children and adults have similar behaviours and understanding of situations and behave accordingly?

Not quite sure how this answers my question.

Are kids not capable of carrying covid and spreading it to adults?
How does this apply to the rest of the world?
Church's is very nice. I have a few a pairs of Gaziano and Girling and Edward Greens, and the quality is amazing on them.
SB Foot! I've been to Minneapolis a few times, but I never managed to make it to Red Wing unfortunately. I've heard good deals can be found during their annual sale.
I went through a phase of buying Made in US and Canada footwear such as Alden and Viberg, and to be honest, I don't think I could ever buy a cheap pair of shoes again. I recognize I'm paying for the inefficient process, but the construction and quality is amazing. Even when it comes to buying sneakers, I prefer Made IN US New Balance over a pair of Nikes.
Are you interested in just the data? I no longer have the images, I had them hosted in S3 but I stopped paying for it so they are probably long gone.
I created a vinyl auction aggregator from eBay called collectorsfrenzy.com in 2008 which I ran till 2018.

At the time, there was another website Popsike (still running today) that accomplished the same task, but they only updated the listings pulled from eBay every few months whereas my service pulled the listings as soon as they completed.

My failure was that I ran everything from my cable modem and off of my own hardware. By the time cloud services were affordable, my database was around 60gigs, and I wasn't sure how I would be able to transfer the data easily. Eventually, my hardware bit the dust and I just didn't have the motivation to get everything back up and running. I had always considered to transition to a vinyl marketplace but work/family ended up delaying that indefinitely.

If I'm specifically targeting that website, what's stopping me from writing a bot that would simply enter 3 all the time?
