Do you feel confident enough in the analysis to make a diagnosis sight unseen?
Re:Feds Target AI Critics as "Foreign Agents" on Thursday September 24, 2026 @12:46AM (#49826357)
Because they are free.
I can’t deploy a toy project to a vm without triggering the classifier.
You can run opus 4.8 level models on $10k in hardware or less. Just seems like there is little argument to explain why there are 10s of trillions in future profits for these labs.

Risks are understood by everyone who has read sci fi. Dario has been crying wolf from day one… he should not be the messenger here.
The internet created lots of monopolies with network effects and economies of scale.a low margin commoditized business that still attracted a trillion dollars of investment to get off the ground was not how I envisioned it happening either.

What is the fitness function , eval?
A fantastically useful commodity that resists monopoly is the best outcome.
Re:Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber on Tuesday July 21, 2026 @01:22PM (#48995332)
Makes sense, subsidizing tokens doesn’t seem like a great strategy for a public company.

Exactly developers can switch to another coding cli and the learning curve is close to zero. Mindshare without switching costs is just a popsicle in the sun.
Re:The Kimi K3 Moment on Sunday July 19, 2026 @11:06AM (#48968824)
If your business leaks to your customers… if you can ask your product for its inner secret sauce and it readily gives away the goose. That is not a moat.

Also probably betting on their compute and energy capabilities.
Re:OpenAI resets spending expectations, from $1.4T to $600B on Tuesday February 24, 2026 @04:44PM (#47143598)
This is important. 20 billion is just like a rumor? would love to see the breakdown in the form of audited financials.
Re:Why users cannot create Issues directly on Tuesday January 06, 2026 @04:36PM (#46519167)
I also see ghosty consume a massive amount of memory and periodically need to restart.
Re:Nvidia buying AI chip startup Groq for about $20B on Wednesday December 24, 2025 @06:40PM (#46380529)
I would assume he is a fiduciary... I am curious what happens with investors here?
Re:Nvidia buying AI chip startup Groq for about $20B on Wednesday December 24, 2025 @06:38PM (#46380507)
curious how the execs can honor the fiduciary duty to share holders assuming only they? get the 20 billion and the company is left headless and leaking all of its intellectual property to Nvidia?
Re:Claude Code 2.0 on Monday September 29, 2025 @08:23PM (#45420543)
I see thinking can be toggled in the CLI, anyone figured out how to toggle it in the extension?

Re:Claude Code weekly rate limits on Monday July 28, 2025 @09:19PM (#44717874)
Why don’t they just offer a $500/m plan?
Re:Claude Code weekly rate limits on Monday July 28, 2025 @09:17PM (#44717862)
Time to start using Claude code proxy and other models. This black box rate limit is really lame.
Alot of deterministic systems externalize their edge cases to the user. The software design doesn’t fully match the reality of how it gets used. Ai can be far more flexible in the face of dynamic and variable requirements.
Re:Datadog's $65M/year customer mystery solved on Monday June 30, 2025 @05:22PM (#44428025)
You could hire 100 people to manage your timeseries data and save 70%
One thing I don’t understand about these agent frameworks… cursor, Claude, Claude code, cline, v0… all of the large production agents with leaked prompts use xml function calling, and it seems like these frameworks all only support native json schema function calling. This is maybe the most important decision and from my experience native tool calling is just about the worst option.

Enough to kill is a meaningless metric.
Re:Meta got caught gaming AI benchmarks on Tuesday April 08, 2025 @02:14PM (#43624809)
https://aider.chat/docs/leaderboards/ your experience doesn't align with my experience or this benchmark. o1 pro is good but I would rather do 20 cycles on gemini 2.5 rather than wait for Pro to return.
Re:Meta got caught gaming AI benchmarks on Tuesday April 08, 2025 @02:10PM (#43624775)
The switching costs are so low (zero) that anyone using these models just jumps to the best performer. I also agree that this is not a brand or narrative sensitive project.
