He would’ve likely qualified for Medicaid in the US if he was living in any liberal state that expanded eligibility.
Go watch the body cam footage of the peaceful protest. Looks a lot like people with guns hid in the woods and shot a cop who responded to what looked like a terrorist attack.
If I get randomly punched by someone who was in the fight club, with no knowledge of their participation, am I now a member of the fight club.
So much pearl clutching from these security companies. An embargo isn’t an enforceable contract, expect it to leak and be ready to fast forward your plan. Don’t start pointing fingers because people protected themselves or their customers once the dam broke.
All very well known security researchers with decades of experience. I agree the anime/song is unprofessional but somehow that stuff is normalized in security/hardware labs.

The is written in the most grating way possible.

Alas, I am the product of my environment

It’s only about 10 per engineer. I’m not at Anthropic and before 2026 I was regularly hitting 1400 commits / year on my GitHub. If agents made me 2x faster (they have, review is still slow; I currently have 40 PRs open) that’d be the same rate.
They left him as an employee for the FBI to continue investigating; likely they setup cameras to get hard evidence he was tampering with them.
Re:Terence Tao: Math 2.0 [pdf] on Sunday October 11, 2026 @11:06AM (#50044086)
The above commenter has the same allegory- most “users” of math don’t care about the body of work behind it; only the consequence of it being proved is the fact that matters.
Re:Dario, Please on Monday September 14, 2026 @07:46PM (#49705813)
I mean these machines take massive scale compute- they’d have to some how distill themselves, bootstrap a distributed inference runtime that can run across many lossy unreliable machines. The idea of the AI running away from us is probably unrealistic. I’m more interested in bad actors using unaligned AI for bad things.
Re:New type of dice guarantees no tie when deciding who goes first on Thursday September 03, 2026 @09:07PM (#49559241)
It didn’t mention the underlying theory? Is it just that these large dimensions reduce the collision probability?

> Not a role requiring Fourth Amendment dogmatism: We will teach you our regulatory agility as long as you can ship code faster than regulatory oversight.

Is this a troll post? I’m pro-LEO and generally pro-Flock as a heavily auditable investigatory tool but intentionally circumventing the 4th amendment is outright evil.

Re:Creepy Crawlies on Tuesday September 01, 2026 @12:58PM (#49524674)
I literally work on this. The problem is that enforcing device attestation impacts DAU so platforms don’t want to do it but it’s effective. Once the internet is unusable, device attestation will be required to access services. Ad driven businesses will start to see demand from ad buyers for non-bot traffic etc.
Re:Creepy Crawlies on Sunday August 30, 2026 @06:51PM (#49503614)
.. and we ban those device ids and move on. Your capital is lost.
Re:Creepy Crawlies on Sunday August 30, 2026 @12:46PM (#49500296)
It seems clear to me we are moving towards a world where you will have to perform device attestation to access the internet. The spam/abuse is too great and accelerating.
People don’t want their incompetence displayed. The session is probably a series of “continue” prompts with basic understanding demonstrated in the initial ask.
I’ll start working on the impl, you get the VC funding. I’m sure there is a Balmer peak joke in here.
Don’t be hyperbolic. Enforcing immigration policy isn’t a crime against humanity.
I went down a rabbit hole of refurbing burnt out crypto gpus. It’s really not too complicated but can be hit or miss. Need to get a box full.
Re:Going Dark, and the era of law enforcement hacking on Saturday August 15, 2026 @08:46PM (#49315740)
I’m interested in forensics, is it worth getting a cert? I barely see jobs show up on USAJOBs in the Bay Area, do you have any recs on finding roles?

It is quite accessible and is read by teenagers during their angst. It appeals to people become it is a simple premise that gives simple choices to the reader.
It was a popular platform briefly for college students etc. I remember college kids posting drama on Kik etc
Re:Why I Left Google DeepMind on Monday July 27, 2026 @12:31PM (#49072021)
I mean, does enabling ICE to be more effective actually represent a harm? ICE has authority to do the things it’s doing. The courts are the appropriate venue to check that authority. Two agents murdering citizens is a criminal matter completely unrelated to Google’s relationship with DHS.

It feels like AI empowering scams and facilitating post-truth is more harm.

Re:Does creatine make you smarter? on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @01:59PM (#49010821)
I do function health and have completely normal nutrient blood levels.
Re:Does creatine make you smarter? on Wednesday July 22, 2026 @01:58PM (#49010809)
Yes I’m fit, easily passed military and LEO fitness tests this year.

I get severe muscle cramping, even after pounding water and electrolytes. Like I can’t handle my kid something in the car without risking a spasm.
This isn’t escaping in the same sense- the model was executing within the OpenAI infra. If it ported its entire architecture/weights into a public cloud to survive being turned off… that’d be pretty cool.
I imagine they’re building the supply side as well, where you can bid your fixed GPU. My question with this stuff is how do I know my data is secure on these for-rent boxes? What steps are taken to sanitize the GPU between runs etc.
Re:Agent swarms and the new model economics on Monday July 20, 2026 @07:47PM (#48986364)
I mean why even use VCS at that point?
