> I would write my OWN bot, that responded to TWSS with a quotation from a notable woman.
I'd write a bot that would answer with a TWSS-trigger and watch the IRC channel going up in flames :]
Yeah! Can't wait to use their hip and cool .NET technology ... and using windows is a delight. cmd32.exe > zsh ;)
See, if you charge every facebook user $1 month this makes ... ah ... nevermind theoretical markets :)
Sad times when Atwood is giving coding advice ...
I bet he will be building some RPN language ... which is a rather boring task.
Huh, seems I'm a strange guy. From the "everybody has read" list I just read 2 books (pragmatic programmer and the 2nd edition) but from the list "everybody recommends but no one actually reads" I only haven't read introduction to algorithms.
> I started out just knowing the basics: HTML/CSS and some Photoshop skills. Hardly any knowledge of JS or any programming language.
What did you do during your high school years? Why didn't you learn to code then?
Wow, there are people who actually like JavaScript?!
> try to make your site more appealing to a potential customer
No problem with that but spamming google with bought links, etc. isn't what exactly makes a site appealing to customers.
Great. You use the FOSS alternatives and let the greedy guys play business with commercial software.
But then ... tell me ... for what do we need the pirate bay?
> Linux
Only most lines of linux code are written by people who are paid for doing so. If it wasn't for companies that put money into linux development linux would be a lot less useful.
I don't think the comments will get better. It's a SEO site after all and you just need to take a look at sphinn.com to see what happens if you cater to a community of spammers and shadowy salesmen.
wow, that share thingy is ultra annoying.
meh, only webdev hippsters there ...
uh, looks like some webdev hippster read the 2nd ed. and now wants to start a C-rockstar/ninja cult.
Talks about nanoseconds and ultra fast code ... doesn't lose a word about cache locality?
As a one man shop he possibly just can't afford to support Android. First porting your existing Obj-C code to Java is a lot of work and then supporting all the android screen resolutions out there would mean he couldn't provide updates to the existing iOS apps.
> the most restrictive operating systems only permit us to code in Objective C
uninformed gibberish.
he's selling crap worth $10 for $99 and people are willing to buy. so I guess it worked pretty good.
Döner - not Kebap - is a german (berlin) invention.
> 2. Tablets are the future. If Adobe doesn't make a photoshop for the iPad, someone else will and Adobe will go out of business.
OK, let's assume tablets were the future ... so how does it help Adobe (a software company) if they set such low prices for their products? They are just educating customers that software should be very cheap and there's not much worth to it.
I can understand why Apple who is a hardware company at first is interested in low software prices but for a software company this is just suicidal.
Wow. Adobe devaluating their product by setting such a low price. I don't think this is a good idea.
I've got a MBP and a Thinkpad and though the TP is by far the best PC (win/lx) notebook it's nowhere near the MBP if you compare build quality and ergonomics.
familiar interface for whom?
none. I'm using libevent for my C++0x webapps and it rocks.
make native apps and stop doing that web bullshit then?
yo mon. this is the shit! love ektoplazm.
this music is the suxx0r. goa trance > all
That's why I don't like pair programming.
