Archery. I got my first bow in 2019 to try bow hunting, but now I am mostly interested in it for target archery. In state competitions, I was on the podium in 3 of the 6 events last year. It’s not a huge field but it feels pretty good.

The other big thing this year is walking, it’s simple exercise that has helped me lose 30 pounds since July 1st.

A quick google search suggests that in the US only California, New York, and D.C. protect against discrimination based on political views[1]. But can act if that view affects performance (at least in California)[2].

Re:Germany shuts down illegal data center in former NATO bunker on Friday September 27, 2019 @11:24AM (#21092964)
My guess is they are using "heart attack" as a general term. My boss at my previous job had a genetic disease that caused heart arrhythmia's frequently. They were not life threatening if handled in time, he had an internal defibrillator(?) that would trigger a shock to correct the problem in the worst case. Most of the time he would have someone drive him to the hospital (1-2 hours away) to have it reset in a controlled environment

Eventually he made several corrections to his lifestyle that reduced the number of attacks considerably and volunteered for several corrective procedures to fix the problem (He wanted his son to be able to live without the risks) last I heard he had the defibrillator removed after a surgery at the Mayo Clinic, diet changes (no alcohol), and improvement to his physique due to regular exercise (obesity increased the chances of attacks for his condition).

If you have cash in your account rather than just various coin, you may be able to file a complaint with the FDIC.
Re:Iocage – A FreeBSD jail manager on Monday November 14, 2016 @05:09PM (#12953819)
Across jails, pids are not visible. I can't comment on the ability of a user on the root of a linux system being able to see the pids in a LXC, but I bet there is a way. After all they are running on the same kernel. Is the non-visibility of the proceses just a userland trick on linux?

Resource limits for Jails can be done with rctl

Yea, pretty sure you are wrong on melatonin being habit forming. Google says it is not: https://www.google.com/search?q=is+melatonin+habit+forming
Re:MAPS.ME users now can edit OpenStreetMap by themselves on Thursday April 07, 2016 @01:49PM (#11449143)
From the issue referenced it seems like this is only done when the regions needed for routing are not already downloaded to the device. They do admit that the source/destination is sent to the server rather than just the regions, that might have been a reasonable balance. I was able to create a route from my current location to a new location, one I have never search for before going into airplane mode, across multiple regions already on my device.

The app statistics and ad delivery can be easily turned off.

OsmAnd looks pretty nice too.

Re:He Always Had a Dark Side on Wednesday March 30, 2016 @05:53PM (#11393336)
I suspect this information would actually be really hard if not impossible to track down. The actions of D-list celebrities, and I am not even sure a senator's daughter would qualify that high, in the 1970s is not reported like it is in today's 24/7 news cycle.

And, I can't imagine international flight passengers were tracked that closely either, much less stored for over 40 years.

Is this working on a similar system to Optical touchscreen technology? Did you build the ir sensors into the edge of the glass or at the surface?

Re:A tiling window manager written in Rust on Wednesday December 17, 2014 @11:50AM (#8762951)
I use awesomeWM, http://awesome.naquadah.org/, we have about 10 converts in our office now. It seems to be fairly well documented and has plenty of addons to make it look better (although I use just the bare minimum).

I just wish I could find a decent tilinging manager for OS X (divvy and amethyst do not fit my requirements)

The first patent wasn't struck down, yogaglo was granted the patent, then they dropped their rights to it.
Re:Who Made That Paintball? on Monday August 18, 2014 @02:12PM (#8193742)
They do, most tournaments have rate limits of 12-15 BPS now.
Re:Who Made That Paintball? on Monday August 18, 2014 @12:21PM (#8193280)
Freezing paintballs is an urban myth. The hard ones are those that are left out in the sun and humidity the shell absorbs moisture which causes them to "rubberize", they bounce rather than breaking which transferred more energy to the player. Paint made in the 80s and 90s is nothing like modern paintballs, bad manufacturers/brands like Monsterball are long since dead. Safety is still important masks and gun safety prevents 99.99% of paintball specific major injuries. (bruises and small cuts can still happen).
Re:Who Made That Paintball? on Monday August 18, 2014 @12:15PM (#8193254)
You may want to look into it again. Pump games and magfed is making a comeback.
Re:Who Made That Paintball? on Monday August 18, 2014 @12:14PM (#8193251)
It happens, lax safety on and off the field and poor gun safety/trigger control. Keep your mask on at all times on the field and barrel bags on off the field, and accidents like this can't happen (source: I ref and play paintball every weekend). We kick people off the field for lifting their mask when they are on the field and ensure barrel bags go on before walking back into the staging area.
Re:Who Made That Paintball? on Monday August 18, 2014 @12:11PM (#8193237)
Almost no field allows you to shoot 25 bps. Most are limited to 12-15 bps and 300 feet per second or less. Cost is ultimately up to you. We have plenty of recreational players that come out spend $20-$40 for 5 hours of fun. I really depends on the field. Find one that caters to recball and you will have a good time for the cost per hour.
Re:Ask HN: How to Find a Developer Job with a Felony? on Friday June 27, 2014 @11:14AM (#7954296)
While what he was convicted of is fairly minor from the details given, the felony question on an application generally looks like this: Have you ever been convicted of a Felony? [ ]Yes [ ]No

Its hard to explain it if you are only given an 'X' to answer it.

Re:Tesla Model S Ethernet Network Explored on Friday April 04, 2014 @08:37PM (#7535425)
Is it even that complicated? Just cut one (or all 4) of the lines under the car that runs to the brake calipers. No need to get under the hood.
Re:Nagios-plugins web site taken over by Nagios on Sunday January 19, 2014 @12:50PM (#7085157)
naemon is a fork of nagios 4.0 done by the developer that commited 95% of the Nagios codebase: http://naemon.github.io/

His "release" from being a core nagios developer is another interesting story, he talks about it some here (some nsfw language: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgbbyyNIiHc

Re:Engineering Pornography (2002) on Thursday December 20, 2012 @02:06PM (#4949326)
We had a power short at $work this summer, with MUCH smaller wiring. They brought in an Astro van filled will equipment to do the same fault finding. Standing above the fault, as the Xcel lineman told me to, I could feel the ground move. It was an interesting experience.
Re:Obama, Romney Top 5 Funders on Wednesday October 24, 2012 @04:26PM (#4694891)
Top five seems a little short sighted, I would rather see "Funders over X dollars". It would provide more insight into the candidates corporate (or otherwise) sponsors.

I _hoped_ the person that wrote the post was also not the person that submitted this atrocious headline, but wasn't surprised when they were the same. Why would you expect a lot of traffic from TC? First of all, maybe not many people read it. Second, they provide stories, not links; so maybe people read the story and realized they did not give a sh*t (see what I did there?). Third, (this is the only one that I will give you some credit on) TC business model requires keeping people on their site, not visiting other sites. Poor taste in headline, maybe next time you should not bad mouth for the sake of more PR.
