Maybe it's because exceptions for car systems are so low.

>And the UX is pretty good. The computer controls can almost be used by memory, they're very close to hand and well laid out. The nav is so-so but the in-dash lane view makes it sane for big cities.

But the software is awful. It's not poorly designed, necessarily, but it's buggy as hell.

Interesting. I have a 2015 BMW 3 Series with professional I-Drive and I still find it one of the best systems available.

Another reason to never send IDs "required" by many companies today .. using email or their app
Is free conference call really free?

Don't they collect fees from the incoming call network? What's the real story?

Just turn of mobile data. and wifi.
If you take this "burner" to your home or place of work it would be trivial to identify the owner.
Same here. For some reason cannot read with Javascript and reader mode doesn't appear as an option for this page. What's the reason?
Some Airbuses might be more American than Boeing (such as the 787)
Nearly 50% of part content of Airbus planes are American made.

Came to post the exact same thing. Nor does reader mode work.
Re:DJI Mavic Mini on Wednesday October 30, 2019 @01:54PM (#21400506)
I've never considered buying a drone however I would certainly not buy one that required an app + required user account to operate a piece of offline equipment.
Re:DJI Mavic Mini on Wednesday October 30, 2019 @01:52PM (#21400495)
Argh! Just when I thought the drone fad had passed...
> Then they changed it to block location-tagged postings too. Which is a bummer

Yes this was a bummer too. I used it all the time. Now I use hashtags which aren't as effective and I'm sure they'll shut that down too. O well, nothing useful really lost.

>Who cares if they ban it eventually!

They will.

They started locking down other areas a few months ago. I used to browse public pictures using "locations" which was one of the first items to require a login. Frustrating but I just use the service less. And no, I will not create a login.
Re:Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk on Monday October 28, 2019 @01:57PM (#21379621)
That sounds like a different issue. Parents who still drive but don't want to wait in line so they park in the surrounding neighborhood. Trying to find a loophole.

I'd like to hear why someone who lives a few blocks away can't walk from their house to school and pick up their child.

Re:Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk on Monday October 28, 2019 @12:22PM (#21378338)
> In many places, it's not that difficult to get into local politics and start making a difference.

I've recently discovered this. You are are absolutely correct. I'm helping make my "small" City more walk and bike able.

Re:Sun Belt Cities Are Dangerous Places to Walk on Monday October 28, 2019 @12:20PM (#21378313)
> I live 0.1 mile away from my kids' school, but cannot walk over there to pick them up, I have to get in a queue of cars that leads almost to my house

Can you elaborate? This is beyond ridiculous.

Hopefully 100%.

edit: Read as who agreed not to share.

In that case, hopefully 0% agreed to share.

Re:“We have no reason to believe 5G is safe” on Monday October 21, 2019 @11:22AM (#21313305)
My City has them or they are under permitting for "towers" (of 30 feet or so) on nearly every block. Some right next to residences, daycares, schools, offices, etc.
Or you know the people using the scooters could park them properly.
Re:5G Mobile Networks: A Systems Approach on Tuesday October 15, 2019 @09:19AM (#21258029)
> for now

so worry when it's too late?

Re:5G Mobile Networks: A Systems Approach on Tuesday October 15, 2019 @09:16AM (#21258005)
I think one of the concerns is in the past a cell tower would cover a large area and thus not many people were close to them.

Now with 5G towers and their much shorter range people are finding these all over the place, in cities on nearly every block and thus many more people are much closer to the towers than before.

I completely agree.
> I was curious if the micro-plastics could be coming from the bottles they are packaged in. The article says...

I assumed that they were talking about from the bottle itself.

iOS 12 does side by side web pages.
What if cameras follow you on every trip you make to/from your home. Are you ok with a blotter on all your movements?
Re:Counter Service Tipping: Who Gives? on Monday September 16, 2019 @04:53PM (#20988494)
Tipping /has/ gotten out of control. I will agree.
What sort of patterns are used when setting up the device? Does it 'encourage' enabling of this?
Re:Update on AB5 on Wednesday September 11, 2019 @04:31PM (#20944341)
It's not really sharing anyway.
