Re:I’m joining OpenAI on Monday February 16, 2026 @01:31AM (#47031574)
The main one is that you can run and/or host it remotely, unlike Claude Desktop. By this I mean, you can run OpenClaw on a service like Tailscale and protect your actual machine from certain security/privacy concerns and - regardless of the choice - you can connect your access to OpenClaw via any chat agent or SSH tunnel, so you can access it from a phone. If Claude Cowork comes to iOS/Android with a tunnel option, they can resolve this difference.

A smaller difference would be that you can use any/all models with OpenClaw.

but how would claude then look at devtools for the playwright window to see console output? i know some frameworks are putting logging into the shell, but in old repos Playwright MCP seems worth the extra context, no?

fwiw the change specifically in this release (removing a lot of plugins) will make that adoption path a lot smoother.

Weirdly, going from v1 to v4 is a lot easier now than v1 to v2 or v1 to v3.

That being said... It's too little too late. I use `pnpm` now and maybe I'll use `bun` after total Node compatability.

Re:Bun v1.0.0 on Friday September 08, 2023 @02:48PM (#37437730)
Discord's accessibility has improved quite a bit. Even a screenreader user in the article's source section agrees:

> What I can tell you is that, to my surprise, Discord’s accessibility has apparently improved in recent years, and more blind people are using it now. One of my blind friends told me that most Discord functionality is very accessible and several blind communities are using it. He also told me about a group of young blind programmers who are using Discord to discuss the development of a new open-source screen reader to replace the current Orca screen reader for GNOME

Discord is honestly a great place for FOSS to house their communications. I find all of the articles claims very haphazard:

> When you choose Discord, you are legitimizing their platform and divesting from FOSS platforms

It is legit? It's free? It has loads of compelling features, is very accessible, and - most importantly... Also, choosing Discord does not take value away from FOSS communication platforms.

> Use IRC

It isn't IRC which is very inaccessible to lots of people new to computers and software in general.

sure, that's why China is banning gov't officials from using their devices...
Re:You don't need a modal window on Wednesday May 24, 2023 @09:22AM (#36057650)
> Modal windows can't be bookmarked or shared as links

Wrong.

> Modal windows can't be opened in a new tab.

Wrong, and the author admitted it in the following sentence.

> Modal windows make the Back button confusing.

Subjective. I find it very logical when I use Reddit or Google Images.

> Modal windows are hard to get right.

This one is fair, but `<dialog>` isn't the answer regardless as it has many accessibility issues even in the browsers that support it.

---

Use modals/dialogs whenever they feel right, as long as you can implement them accessibly.

For what it's worth, I sent an email, but haven't heard back. Given the previous error, I'm curious to know if you received it!

When I send an email to `[email protected]` I get the following delivery fail notice:

Can you expand on the required front-end work? It's difficult to cater an email to non-existent requirements! I can just shove my resume into an email, but I don't know if that's what you're looking for.
Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (April 2023) on Monday April 03, 2023 @01:59PM (#35428471)
There's a checkbox here to confirm that you have 7 years of experience. I'm at 6.5 years is it really that important?
Re:Ask HN: Who is hiring? (February 2023) on Thursday February 02, 2023 @03:23PM (#34632440)
Hey Mike.

I applied on the website, but didn't get the "Thanks for your application" automatic response I usually get from job applications. I then emailed "[email protected]" to ask if my application went through, but I haven't gotten a reply there either.

I do not want to miss a chance to interview for this opportunity, so please let me know if something is amiss!

Just read the comments in here. This is a whole lot of words to say: "I wish I could say things without facing consequences."

As somebody else said in this thread, it's really rich to see Paul write about "implicitly ending the discussion" when he instablocks anybody on Twitter so easily.

Re:Use spacer components instead of CSS margins (2020) on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @10:28AM (#29795750)
The opposite would be the intent and the goal. Align design system language WITH your spacer components ensuring strict adherence. Layout components work and they don't have performance issues.
Re:Use spacer components instead of CSS margins (2020) on Tuesday January 04, 2022 @10:26AM (#29795736)
No, it doesn't. Margin may not affect the width and height of the element with `box-sizing: border-box`, but margin still breaks encapsulation and reusability of the component. You make layout assumptions by applying margin to a component.

Seems very disingenuous.

The only thing on the list that's related to Vercel is the analytics platform. Even that is clearly listed as something you can leverage via your own provider.
