Anecdata, but as a USian, it's always been an E/A spelling variation, E male variant, A female variant... YMMV

I hope its "Ted" and not "Wart".

Very neat!

Does anyone else remember Frets On Fire? That could be a fun mode to try to adapt.

Slippery.

Now I want to give a panda a slip-n-slide and film it.

There's an interesting comparison in the creative/literary end of llm output too, they're in my experience, dreadful with anatomy. Like, it knows humans have hands, heads, etc, but often times a seemingly limited concept of how anything is connected, or degrees of freedom. (e.g., Why yes, certainly there are many examples of humans rotating their torsos 180º at the hip, seems perfectly cromulent)

I honestly don't know if an image model would help, or if it might analyze the output and go "13 fingers? ship it!" anyway.

The most potato i've run it on was a CB131 chromebook, (which was about a hundred bucks in 2017) and even then, even though video was chugging at 20fps, the main update loop was locked at 60TPS. very impressive. (and helpful for a 9 hour layover on christmas eve, anecdotally)

With actual (virtual) drills!
Re:4D Doom on Wednesday April 01, 2026 @03:18PM (#47605269)
interesting, very cool demo, but its not the 4d that hurts my brain and/or soul, its an FPS with an inverted X mouse axis... its like the backwards bike, sure it can be done, but my wiring isn't rigged for that!

There are certain personalities that are often attributed to modern sources, but haven't we always had that weird eccentric dude(tte) living in a shack that has a predilection to collect herbs/mine rocks/watch the skies/you name it, that isn't thought much of or seems productive until someone gets sick/needs ore/wants to know the weather/etc?

All that said, what did crazy cat people do before cats???

I've always been partial to the notion that wolves domesticated human ancestors, honestly.

We like to say that dogs are wired to understand human language patterns, but who's not to say that we're not wired to emit canine 'linguistics'?

Of course it was fast with that much ram, you'd just cache the entire interwebs. /s

Usability, i'd like either a 'save/restore state' button, or a 'restore current best'. Right now, experimenting after finding a solution seems like a punishment if I can't recall exactly what I did to hit my rolling 'best'. Good game though!

I can attest to this one, 6 months ago I had a vintage pc I needed to rehab due to the curse of the proprietary ISA card. Imaged the failing drive to an ssd, sata->IDE adapter. P3 733MHz, 128 mb ram, W98SE, its astonishingly fast and responsive. Boots nearer to my memories of MSDOS 6.22 firing up than anything else.

Acrobat reader still performs like a lead balloon though, even a miracle can't fix that one.
