So OP (of the reddit post) hasn't shown the offending material in question and the source of this post is from the Ben Shapiro subreddit? I'm going to need a bit more proof than that.

Yes it is. PayPal owns Venmo.
Re:Factory jobs are booming like it’s the 1970s on Tuesday September 27, 2022 @05:45PM (#33001532)
I dont disagree. I hope that adequate environmental regulations persist and those improvements in efficiency are realized.
Re:Factory jobs are booming like it’s the 1970s on Tuesday September 27, 2022 @05:43PM (#33001525)
Thats not what I was saying at all. I don't prefer the outsourcing of pollution.
Re:Factory jobs are booming like it’s the 1970s on Monday September 26, 2022 @04:28PM (#32987922)
I'm all for manufacturing jobs coming back but do we have adequate environment protection to safely facilitate that kind of change? Part of the reason the air is so clean in the US is partially due to offshoring (for better or for worse).
Hot take. Let's put a pin in this comment and come back to it when we know with hindsight what the outcome is. I have a feeling your cynicism is unfounded.
Re:Difference between American public and private opinions on Wednesday August 17, 2022 @11:59PM (#32505098)
Non-adherence doesn't do these things, being an as*ole does however. It's easy to have a differing viewpoint but just done be an as*ole about it and you're fine.

Some of these things are not like the others....
Re:U.S. annual inflation rate drops to 8.5% on Wednesday August 10, 2022 @02:08PM (#32416158)
It's weird. I've only seen my natural gas bill increase about 30pc and groceries are only up 5-10pc...everything else has remained the same.

Though being veg in India usually means still eating dairy products.

Honestly they are really delicious and satiate in a similar way to meat. Try some grasshoppers next chance you get.
That doesn't make any sense.
Re:Wikipedia Suspends Editing of Recession Page on Friday July 29, 2022 @11:22PM (#32284012)
The NBER defines recession as:

"a significant decline in economic activity spread across the market, lasting more than a few months, normally visible in real GDP, real income, employment, industrial production, and wholesale-retail sales".

So make of that what you will

Re:Wikipedia Suspends Editing of Recession Page on Friday July 29, 2022 @06:06PM (#32282298)
But recession means different things to different people. We have had 2 quarters of contraction but unemployment is low thus to a lot of people say we aren't in a recession but teetering close to it. Im of the mind that matters is conditions on the ground for regular people. Consumer spending remains high and unemployment remains low. Now that could change really quickly and if it does then I would be comfortable saying we are truly in a recession.
Re:Those who can escape Shanghai on Tuesday July 26, 2022 @09:05PM (#32245882)
Honestly it seems like retaliation for the Shanghai gang and Shanghai politics.
Re:The Crime That Killed Shinzo Abe on Monday July 11, 2022 @08:47PM (#32064189)
Very heavy pressure to join and indoctrination. The pressure tactics were very coercive. Essentially thought reform via a high control group/environment. Eventually people would think they made the choice to join themselves and had come to their own conclusions but in fact it was essentially are manipulation.

Pressure to join and indoctrination
I mean a properly configured VPN can do a lot more Then hide you from your ISP
Did you happen to read the article?

In regards to the ARP: "Estimates suggest that fiscal support measures designed to counteract the severity of the pandemic’s economic effect may have contributed to this divergence by raising inflation about 3 percentage points by the end of 2021."

And then Trump: "...because it was enacted after more than $3 trillion had already been spent to stimulate the economy under Trump."

So what is not proper about Trump and Republicans sharing the blame if not shouldering more?....

Very interesting. Mullvad seems to be the most extreme and reputable VPN service out there when it comes to privacy. At least it seems that way.
Let me ask you, what was the type oil being pushed through that pipeline and where was that oil destined for and what was the max throughout of the pipeline? I suggest you look it up. If you look closely, you'll realize the XL pipeline would've actually caused an increase in crude prices in the Midwest and most of the oil was destined for export. KXL was a bad deal for Americans. It certainly wouldn't have led to an increase in energy security.
This really feels like you are ignoring the larger context here. The issues didn't start with the ARP...far from it. The pandemic and Republicans are equally to blame here. Saying that none of this would've happened without the passing of the ARP is very simplistic and probably wrong.
Blaming the xl pipeline cancelation is silly.

I just dont understand this take. I've never found any utility in the down votes. It never seemed to accurately represent anything let alone the quality of the video.
I couldn't find what he was talking but found this interesting pdf that's more or less related to the topic. Clearly something close to what he's talking about is being considered and researched, at least as early as 2005. https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/technical_reports...
Idk I like the idea of controlled digital lending. There was a really niche topic book (the seminal work on the expulsion of Zainichi Koreans from Japan to the DPRK post-WWII) that I had been trying to find for a while. It was out of print and fetching 100 plus dollars on the resale market and I couldn't find a library that had it. Luckily IA had a single copy that they are lending out to one user at a time via a DRM applet on their site. I have to check it out every hour in order to read it but I'm super grateful.
