Re:Bidirectional Charging During Grid Outages on Sunday November 01, 2026 @09:58PM (#50332630)
I have a 100kwh battery (my car, Zeekr 7x, in Australia). That can run quite a few days or even a week with careful usage.
Cloudflare can't win in the long term. The rest of the world just has too much resources compared to them.
Re:We're releasing the weights of Mistral Large 4 on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:58PM (#50297424)
So if scores are good, they must be benchmaxxed, and if they are bad, they must not be benchmaxxed. So basically, the narrative is whatever you want it, no matter what the data says.
Re:Google value plunges by $500B as AI fears rattle Wall Street on Thursday October 29, 2026 @06:30PM (#50297134)
Is this mid air turbulence or the engine flaming out prior to a crash?

Maybe they should have released Gemini Carbon for real rather than teasing it.

I concluded that the best alternative is to use a simple email host like iCloud with your own domain, which is free if you pay for their storage, and then move everything important to Signal.

If all these labs are doing it, it shows that they don't care about any high-minded concepts like being "open source"
Of course he would, he paid a lot for the privilege.
Re:Nvidia Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe: open ASR for 40 languages on Thursday October 29, 2026 @01:13AM (#50284809)
https://github.com/DevEmperor/DictateKeyboard. I forked it to add more models (with Claude). I use openrouter models as well as the local ones
Re:Nvidia Nemotron 3.5 Transcribe: open ASR for 40 languages on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @04:12PM (#50280204)
There are apps on the Google Play Store where you can run on-device models or connect to OpenRouter where they are run for you. Im using Qwen 3 ASR locally on my android, it's the second most accurate open model after the one in this post.
Re:Four Months of Zig on Wednesday October 28, 2026 @08:01AM (#50272227)
There's always a hard sell with Zig. Unpopular opinion but I'm sorry Go and Rust made big leaps in different areas, and Zig is just always going to be a faster horse.
Cloudy days don't matter if you over provision. You can add way more panels than your inverter can handle to account for the cloudy days. Night is another story, of course.
Re:Apple introduces the new 14‑inch MacBook Pro with M6 on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @10:03PM (#50268489)
Standard issue at our company. There's just some apps that are huge, especially legacy ones.
Re:Amazon Is Gutting Its AI Division After Sustained Failure on Tuesday October 27, 2026 @04:22PM (#50265241)
So it's a good place to work if you're a robot?
They already found it with money laundering, but boosters just don't want to admit it and keep saying there will eventually be something better to be found.
This is really a grass is greener scenario because I just left there (NZ) along with a large amount of people I know because of the bad economy.

Make more money? Get 4x the press releases and marketing

Enterprise users are the majority of the users in value. Subscribers are the loss leader hobbyists.

You wouldn't believe any of that if you've used MiMo 2.6 Pro. DeepSeek 4.1 flash 1017 is better in actual use in every regard.
DeepSeek has released their weights so multiple companies can tell you if they're profitable, whereas the ones with closed weights, you will never know, even if they go public, they dont have to publish the actual margin.
It's as if an intern added it and then they just forgot about it.
Ultra is not a thinking level I understand. Max is the highest. Ultra gets it to spawn more subagents.
Re:DeepSeek just open-sourced its inference engine on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @07:07AM (#50164442)
Yes surely if they are benefited we must lose.... Somehow I just have to think of the reason..../s
Re:It's still OK to enjoy programming on Tuesday October 20, 2026 @05:08AM (#50163269)
Why does someone else/ai doing it make it worse for you? Did you enjoy making it? You know before llms there were always people better looking, richer, smarter, etc. Llms didn't invent this problem.
Probably hire people to do it themselves. They are the government, after all.
Even before LLMs they were getting this volume and they just ran what is basically a search engine over them. They don't need to discard anything. (Worked at a job search place)
The anthropic API was serving the deepseek search API?
Re:DeepSeek: DeepSeek v4.1 Flash 1017 on Saturday October 17, 2026 @03:43PM (#50134396)
I think opencode go is the better value to get access to DeepSeek.
Re:The insider trading you're allowed to do on Friday October 16, 2026 @06:34AM (#50116678)
Really stretching the language to make it meaningless. Changing a job is now insider trading? While there's no actual trading of anything? No shares being bought or sold. No insider information being leaked out.
Re:An Apology on Thursday October 15, 2026 @08:02PM (#50112002)
Or you can even just drive a pin into the speaker yourself given they've described exactly where it is.
Luckily we have open weights models that can't be banned. Even if you tried, it would be impossible to enforce, like Napster/Bittorrent again.
