I need to get my shit together. This seems incredible. I'm not putting a little one in the shit show I call my life though.

I cannot wait for my sister's kid to grow up a little so I can take him on these sort of trips!
The paths we all take to the same knowledge is hilarious to me. I learned about chirality in my mid twenties while playing mass effect lol
Re:Don't Let Anyone Take Away Your Big Box of Cables on Thursday September 10, 2026 @06:57PM (#49651259)
I also did the "only keep one of each" purge, but that last part about throwing away a tool because you can just buy another one later is nuts to me. Yeah you could do that. You could also throw away all your cables and just buy them when you need another lol.

Could you make use of a Sony a6000?

I was fired a while ago and hit my "why am I waking up today?" point.

Took me a while but turns out the best reason I found to exist was taking cool pictures of bugs. Fuck me are spiders cool. Dragonflies are incredible. Look at that springtail!

Do something ai can't take from you.

I set myself a goal to find all 3 species of a particular spider genus in my state. Got it! Moving on to finding a bolas spider.

idk. There really is a lot to enjoy outside the collapse of the things I used to enjoy and define my existence by.

Re:Asus Bike Booster on Saturday August 15, 2026 @09:07PM (#49315868)
That might be the easiest ebike retrofit/conversion I've ever seen. I have concerns about the grip in wet conditions but this looks like a great way to get that ebike I've wanted and not put my perfectly good frame to waste.
They are also programmed to send sweet nothings to each other at consistent intervals.

Reading this made me question my own mental stability.
I have yet to find a pattern for when the author chooses to capitalize things.

Very cool, thank you for sharing!
New macs share memory between the cpu and the GPU so the GPU gets a lot of ram for a low cost (relative to everything else available right now.)

I believe that's a fiction/in universe reddit post

Who says anyone needs to inform Valve of your passing? Make sure your children have access to the email backing the account and they're good to go.
Re:Underarm Bowling Incident of 1981 on Saturday June 27, 2026 @12:02PM (#48699384)
No. That would be a foul. It's in the book though lol.
Re:Underarm Bowling Incident of 1981 on Saturday June 27, 2026 @11:55AM (#48699314)
I suppose my fundamental misunderstanding is that an underarm bowl just seems like the obvious defensive move, not unsportsmanlike.

I said this in another comment and it seems relevant: "I know they're different, but in baseball the pitch is part of the game. Not being able to make good use of a pitch is a problem for the hitter, not the pitcher."

I think my baseballed mind simply cannot warp itself to your gentlemanly ways lol

Re:Underarm Bowling Incident of 1981 on Saturday June 27, 2026 @11:47AM (#48699264)
I know they're different, but in baseball the pitch is part of the game. Not being able to make good use of a pitch is a problem for the hitter, not the pitcher.

Now that I think of it telling a baseball pitcher that he could throw a pitch, but not too difficult of one at certain times is hilarious.

Cricket will never make sense to me. That just seems like playing the game.

Re:Setting up a free *.city.state.us locality domain on Wednesday May 13, 2026 @11:42AM (#48123401)
Seeing the *.k12.oh.us in the delegated subdomains brought me back to highschool. When I was little I always wondered why the city name was before k12. Didn't know it was structured like that everywhere.
Not sure if that cultural touch point is as well known as you feel it is lol.
Re:New 10 GbE USB adapters are cooler, smaller, cheaper on Saturday April 25, 2026 @10:07AM (#47901664)
Considering what you get and the historic prices of 10GbE those are absolute steals.

How much would they need to cost before you'd consider it cheap? If you want CHEAP then 10GbE is not for you in 2026.

Re:3.4M Solar Panels on Wednesday April 22, 2026 @05:29PM (#47869525)
This comment is a joke. Are jokes entirely warrantless?

I rewatch that every year as a reminder of what we're capable of. Great video.
