Re:DeepSeek 4.1 Flash on Friday September 11, 2026 @01:09PM (#49661769)
On my internal evals, this is actually performing mostly worse than 4.0 flash. Still the best bang for the buck though.
Re:How many of the 170k English words do you know? on Friday June 19, 2026 @05:54PM (#48603714)
Apparently I am Stephen Fry in disguise?
Re:SpaceX S-1 on Thursday May 21, 2026 @04:14AM (#48219415)
If my napkin math is right, Anthropic will make SpaceX/Xai whole on the initial investment for Colossus 2 + operating costs + a small profit by the end of the contract. No massive profits, although they may be able to fudge accounting to make it seem that way.
Re:Senate fails to block US involvement in Iran war on Thursday March 05, 2026 @01:58AM (#47258445)
Doesn't war have to be voted on before starting it? Otherwise, you're kind of in it already.
Re:Cord: Coordinating Trees of AI Agents on Friday February 20, 2026 @11:42PM (#47097572)
Claude basically does this now (including deciding when to use subagents, tools, and agent teams). I built a similar thing a month ago and saw the writing on the wall.
I think the native Claude and Codex apps already do this for free. They even have the voice input.
Re:The First Sodium-Ion Battery EV Is a Winter Range Monster on Monday February 09, 2026 @02:24AM (#46942512)
That 10yr per grid scale battery estimate seems high since we have built many grid scale batteries as well as millions of EVs in recent history.
Re:If AI replaces workers, should it also pay taxes? on Monday December 15, 2025 @09:49AM (#46275243)
If all goes as assumed in this thread, there will be more taxes because there will be higher profit margins at the corporate level.
Re:Anthropic acquires Bun on Tuesday December 02, 2025 @11:37PM (#46130355)
Should we be porting our Python projects over to Javascript?
These can both be true. But, maybe in this case it's just a scam.
Re:Nvidia takes $1B stake in Nokia on Tuesday October 28, 2025 @11:34PM (#45742322)
Why is it not smart?
Would be crazy if a country made Bitcoin to weather sanctions or other economic interventions.
Re:M5 MacBook Pro on Wednesday October 15, 2025 @04:28PM (#45598007)
Try Aerospace. Completely solved window management for me.

Also for dev, set up your desired environment in a native container and then just remote into it with your terminal of choice. (Personally recommend Ghostty with Zellij or Tmux)

Re:Notes on Switching to Helix from Vim on Friday October 10, 2025 @01:19PM (#45541381)
What are your differing use cases for each editor?
Re:Thoughts on Mechanical Keyboards and the ZSA Moonlander on Friday September 26, 2025 @08:04PM (#45392270)
Have a Glove80 on the way.
Re:Trumpcard (Official US Government Website) on Friday September 19, 2025 @09:41PM (#45309176)
The $5 million option gives you privileges even better than a US citizen since you do not pay taxes on foreign income while being a US resident. They should make it an annual fee.
Re:Nvidia to Invest $5B in Intel on Thursday September 18, 2025 @11:57AM (#45291242)
As part of this deal, is Intel doing any GPU fabrication?
Re:macOS Tahoe on Tuesday September 16, 2025 @09:48AM (#45262250)
Reminds me of Windows Vista.
Re:Figma spends $300k on AWS daily on Friday July 04, 2025 @09:40AM (#44464474)
Two different companies. Figma is not 37Signals.
Re:OpenAI Charges by the Minute, So Make the Minutes Shorter on Wednesday June 25, 2025 @01:51PM (#44380010)
Impressive
Nvidia tried to buy ARM but was blocked.
Re:Mitochondria as you've never seen them on Tuesday February 04, 2025 @02:47AM (#42929377)
So each of our cells is a habitat for a network of wiggly energy-producing worms...
Re:The Short Case for Nvidia Stock on Monday January 27, 2025 @02:45PM (#42844869)
Couldn't you just copy all your conversations over?
Why not just ban every additive that causes cancer?
How do you know STOP is a strike?
Just have the AI use the browser.
Is there a reference for this? I was wondering the same thing.
Re:Swarm, a new agent framework by OpenAI on Saturday October 12, 2024 @02:14PM (#41821148)
I feel like there's a motivation here to generate a lot of inference demand. Having multiple o1 style agents churning tokens with each other seems like a great demand driver.
Re:Why Is the Speed of Light So Fast? (Part 1) on Friday October 04, 2024 @07:02PM (#41746318)
Simulators do have finite time steps. Without them they'd present the end of a simulation once initiated.
