Re:Vivaldi 8.3 for Desktop: make bad ads sad on Thursday November 05, 2026 @09:20AM (#50379385)
It's better than nothing but it's still far behind uBlock Origin or even the Brave's built-in ad blocker. Their decision to stop supporting uBlock Origin made me drop it as my alternative browser.
Re:iOS allows alternative browser engines in Japan on Saturday January 03, 2026 @02:03PM (#46480267)
Although I partially agree with you, Firefox on Android is a wonderful mobile browser (with some weird stuff though). I would love to have the same Firefox on my iOS but it's currently just impossible.
Re:VS Code deactivates IntelliCode in favor of the paid Copilot on Tuesday December 16, 2025 @08:35AM (#46288305)

Re:LinkedIn is loud, and corporate is hell on Thursday November 27, 2025 @07:29PM (#46074452)
I agree. If you follow people that are really interesting to you and if you don’t just connect with anyone who tries to connect with you, your feed can be pretty good. Sometimes LinkedIn reminds me of the good old days when everyone had a Twitter account and people could discuss there their work and other related stuff without too much politics involved
Zorin OS developers already announced a huge spike of new downloads: https://www.techradar.com/computing/windows/this-linux-os-ha...

I believe many similar beginner-friendly projects like Mint or Fedora see the same trends on their end

With SteamOS and other related projects like Wine and Proton getting more support and attention, I hope more and more developers will start caring about making their apps support Linux out of the box

Re:Wrapping My Head Around AI Wrappers on Friday November 21, 2025 @10:36PM (#46011865)
It’s hard to count how many ffmpeg wrappers are there
Microsoft has been pushing AI features into both VS Code and GitHub for quite some time
Re:Google Antigravity on Tuesday November 18, 2025 @01:25PM (#45970054)
On the contrary, I am glad that the Sublime team did not fall for the trends and avoided adding AI slop into the editor
Re:Firefox context menu adds "Search Image with Google Lens" on Sunday September 28, 2025 @08:21AM (#45403810)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/search_by_ima... is even better in my opinion, it supports multiple image search engines at the same time
