That is great. But hard to implement for side projects or independent devs, its a partner program that they can only approve the businesses they deem acceptable.
the harness is the lock-in with these subscriptions. if you could just take your tokens to any app, there would be no point to stay on that companies ecosystem. I definitely agree that tokens and subscriptions should be portable and fungible, but any service offering that would be much more expensive than just getting a claude or codex sub.
who actually can defend this being good for our society? (that’s not affiliated with a super pac)
get a projector? or don’t get a tv at all
it’s not really paper keys then, but yeah i think the best solution for normal people is to just get a spare mac and use it as your hardware wallet.
how are you gonna use your paper keys when you want to spend some of your bitcoin? the private key has to touch a computer at some point.
i don’t think they would accept a pr given that someone from gitlab closed these issues on purpose and provided a reason. a few of them might have even been PRs, i forget
assigning reviewers is a major pain with gitlab. there have been multiple issues filed to support adding a group as a reviewer, only to have them closed by gitlab, saying thats not the ‘direction’ we’re going in. instead, you can do a /request_review @group in the description, but each person gets added individually so you can’t see which reviewers are in which group, you don’t know if you have the right groups to satisfy the codeowners files, etc. it’s such a mess.
gitlab is extremely bad compared to meta as well.
... The french contractors who built the tgv tried working with california in 2011 to build HSR here too. But they backed out, saying the bureacracy was too great and they were going to help Morocco instead. And guess who has high speed rail today? California or Morocco?
Morocco's high speed rail line opened in 2018.

Yeah I have heard about gambling sites doing this, but for prediction markets I dont think they can do that. But also how can they lock it before a home run happens unless they're just locking it on every at-bat and rejecting/holding bets if a HR happens? These prediction markets have APIs and work the same way as the stock market, there are sellers and buyers in the market so messing with that process would be explicitly unfair and probably illegal.
I'm just assuming here, but I'm sure they have cameras or some other type of data in the stadium, and vision models running on those to make instant trades when a home run has been hit, touchdown scores, etc. and have a huge edge on retail money.
> anyone
> use of the Polymarket site (the “Polymarket Site”) for trading activities, by persons or entities who are U.S. persons (“U.S. Persons”), as defined in the enclosed Appendix, is strictly prohibited, with no exceptions
> I feel fine participating because Polymarket has no house edge or VIG
> Prediction markets are PVP thats the way i look at it
This is true but people should at least be informed that the overwhelming majority of trading volume is HFT firms with faster access to data and the prediction markets than you. These firms pay the prediction markets for that access, and the losses that happen on prediction markets flow to these few large HFT shops.
how are the Macs connected to each other?
still radial spokes on both wheels of the bike which is disappointing. no real bicycle is built this way
this is just not true. the market for new grads is extremely bad. Microsoft could easily invest in more early career people, instead they're hiring more senior H1-Bs.
i didn’t even see that. add the ‘crumble topping’. this is legit terrible
for the sunday lamb roast instructions, how much is 1500g of potatoes? What kind of potatoes?
> Also pick up garlic, rosemary, thyme, lemons, honey, almonds, olive oil, gravy ingredients, mint sauce, crumble topping and vanilla ice cream.
what??? how the hell are you supposed to remember all that. Even the before example tells you what kind of potatoes to get. tbh it would be cool if you could just click a button and get an order pre-filled out on a grocery delivery/pickup service. I really wonder who reviewed this post and if they cook, because imagining yourself in that scenario and reading those instructions falls apart very fast
this is actually happening in california now. a lot of people are using dealer plates on expensive cars they just drive around normally. no registration, no taxes.
pretty sure in a lot of these cases it’s already illegal, enforcing the law is another matter. someone actually has to pull over the montana plate owner, then the state has to sue them for tax evasion, build the case, etc. Thats just not gonna happen. ideally there would be a nationwide standard for registration and taxes.
also the new hot thing in california is to have dealer plates on your million dollar car. you never register it, never pay taxes, but it’s still legal to drive. you just need to own a dealership, but on paper again that’s not hard if you’re rich
construction productivity is actually down since the 60s!
I definitely agree with this, but the transition is gonna suck for some.
it doesn't require nearly as much compute as normal LLMs. anything depending on increased datacenter and compute spending would be threatened.
This makes me kind of nervous for the whole AI thing now. Are people gonna lose their jobs, etc.? so much of the economy is now built on top of LLMs.
> Do not sell powerful AI chips or semiconductor manufacturing equipment to China, and crack down on chip smuggling operations and remote access to data centers outside China. Chips will be the main determinant of China’s AI strength.
> If we execute these measures well, I believe they would slow China’s progress enough to widen America’s lead significantly over the next 3–5 years — the window when AI becomes geopolitically most important.
china is literally making their own ASICs now, not sure that this is the silver bullet he proposes.
